Every episode from all three seasons of the US TV drama that examines the early relationship between up-and-coming FBI profiler Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) and eminent psychiatrist Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen). Happily spending his days lecturing at the FBI academy, Will finds himself called in by Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne), the head of the FBI Behavioral Science Unit, to help capture a serial killer who is on the rampage. Suffering from Asperger's Syndrome, Will struggles to control the thought processes that inform his uncanny ability to empathise with serial killers. In an effort to ease some of the pressure on the young investigator his superiors decide to enlist the help of the renowned forensic psychiatrist, Hannibal Lecter, a move which has grisly implications for all concerned. This show deserved to continue to S4 and beyond given its overhaul of the books. Definitely one of the best in terms of writing/acting/directing. Everything. Very unique style in regards to the visuals and music but it suits the tone of the show so well. 5 star all around. Mads Mikkelsen is outstanding as Hannibal. It may take a couple of episodes/rewatches to get used to him over other actors who've taken up the role, but he definitely brings something extra to the role and so far is my favourite actor to date who has tackled the role. I could go on about the actors, but the rest are still fantastic, they all bring something extra to the characters from the books and even the guest stars are fantastic. S1 Extras - 2 Featurettes S2 extras - outtakes, commentaries, featurettes - quite a lot. I found it very well worth it for the extra content/background information the extras provide. S3 Extras - none.

Spectacular show but shame about the lack of extras on the boxset. One of my favourite shows to rewatch over and over again (and I have rebinged on multiple occasions). Excellent scripts, actors, all of it. This show deserved to continue to S4 and beyond given its overhaul of the books. Definitely one of the best in terms of writing/acting/directing. Everything. Stylised and gory, perfect!

Brilliant TV show, Worth anyone's time. Cast is amazing and you will probably know some of the story lines.

Three seasons of master TV storytelling, at this price (15€ when I bought it), are just a steal.

An excellent show at a great price.
The 5 stars is for the show itself which is stylish, intelligent and exceptionally well acted throughout. If you are looking this up, I'm sure you already know that it is quite bloody, and some of the images a grotesquely beautiful in a way. The seductive quality of the character writing is excellent and you can absolutely understand how people could be drawn in. The downside of this box set is the lack of special features for the later series. But the price of this is so good it still merits the rating.
