We then had a fecal test done which was all clear. 6 weeks down the line and £450 out of pocket we were faced with doing blood tests when I saw this advertised and decided to give it a go first. From the first sachet our dogs problem cleared up and 3 weeks later having given him a sachet a day he is back to his normal self. Vet has said to leave the blood tests for now and to continue giving this as it can be taken long term although we will reduce it to every other day in the near future. So definately worth trying this in conjunction with vet advice. Much cheaper than vet bills as well. I thought it worth coming back with an update to my original review. Our dog has been taking this now for 6 months. We have so far not had any further problems with diarrhea, blood in stools or colitis. It seems to be working very well for our dog. I have checked with two vets who have said it is fine to keep him on it long term. We are currently giving one sachet a day mixed with wet food. He either likes the taste or doesn't notice it is mixed in his food. It is quite expensive but in the 5 years we have had our dog it has cost a fortune in the vet with his problem so this needs to be taken into account. I personally find my pet prefers it when I mix it with a small amount of water into a paste, he then eats it with no masking it! If not it mixes really well with any wet/pouch food, I wouldn't recommend putting it on kibble as it would be very dry! I hope this helps! **Q: Buddie is 9month old cavapoo is this suitable for him?** A: If you are going to give it to your dog because of soft pooh, then yes, but as you have a young dog have you seen a vet, I had to have it long term for an old dog and it was cheaper on Amazon, but you need to check further with the vet what the problem is and are they prescribing Pro-Kolin. **Q: I see that this also incudes prebiotics as well as probiotics. I have heard that prebiotics can cause loose stools in some cats?** A: I gave my cat this because he already had a problem of not just loose stools but very watery stools. Having had 2 lots of antibiotics and other medications from the vet for him I was becoming very worried and just didn't know where this was going to end. I went on to forums about cats with irritable bowel type symptons and noted that some people had already tried to is and recommended it. My view was that I had nothing to lose and I have to say that I was amazed how quickly it worked. I gave it to him in goats yogurt every morning and within 3 days, after having had the problem in excess of 3 weeks, he was making formed stools! I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone whose cat has a bowel problem along with the goats yogurt. I have also given him a spoonful of the yogurt everyday since as I'm sure this also helped and he thinks of it as a treat every morning. He has not had a problem since! **Q: Is this the same as the Pro-kolin paste?** A: There are small differences. It's up to you if you decide to try it. I changed from paste to powders and it works fine for my Parson Russell Terrier. This is very effective and I highly recommend, good to have some in the cupboard just in case as well. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing products for gastrointestinal problems *by J***I on 6 April 2026* I started to buy this after the vets couldn’t find anything to treat my dog with bad gastrointestinal problems, he was pooing so much blood and the vets just treated him with the same thing over and over again and he still was suffering badly.
