As seen in the MAIL ON SUNDAY, THE DAILY MAIL, THE TELEGRAPH and as heard BBC RADIO 2 with Chris Evans. 'A lovely book. Offers a little lesson every day on how to be more mindful, to slow time down or stop time.' Chris Evans, BBC Radio 2 --------------------------------------------------- A frantic world . . . or a frantic mind? The New York Times bestselling author Pedram Shojai reveals what it takes to stop time . . . Discover the deepest secrets of time and take control of your life. By following the 100-day Gong ritual - allocating a set amount of time each day, a 'Gong', to everyday tasks - you will not only find your mind is calmer and clearer but also that you have the space to accomplish what you want in life. Taoist Minister and New York Times bestselling author Pedram Shojai shows how the ancient spiritual practice of stopping time can be turned into a simple and effective life skill to help you feel less stressed, more rested and able to focus on what matters most. ' The Art of Stopping Time is a powerful book that will help you at this critical juncture in history, when time seems to disappear in an instant. I highly recommend it.' Daniel G. Amen, MD, Founder, Amen Clinics and author of Memory Rescue 'Who knew that the way to gain more time was actually to stop, be present, and dedicate time to specific activities' JJ Virgin, New York Times bestselling author of The Virgin Diet and Sugar Impact Diet Review: A precious gem of a book - I heard about this book when Chris Evans interviewed the author and thought it would be appropriate for a colleague. After reading the first page, and this paragraph in particular, I immediately ordered another copy for myself......plus another 2 for colleagues. "Time is all we have, and it's our most valuable gift in life. When we run out, well, the game is over. We can 'look' back, but we can't get it back." Wise words indeed. Review: Excellent book on mindfulness. - I enjoyed this book very much in the kindle edition and have given it five stars. I am reading it for the second time! I am able to change the font to suit on my kindle. However I found the print in the hard cover version which I am giving as a Christmas present as too small. I wish the hard cover version had been printed in a slightly larger font.

100 Days to a More Meaningful Life
Pedram Shojai’s newest book, The Art of Stopping Time, is a treasure trove of suggestions for reclaiming control of your time while moving through life more consciously. The 100 daily exercises – or gongs as Shojai calls them – includes practices from time audits (exactly like it sounds) to time with the stars. (the celestial variety, not Hollywood.) I jumped at the opportunity to participate in a test panel that utilized 50 of the gongs and witnessed firsthand how valuable these daily practices can be. When I re-evaluated my priorities (Day 1 – assembling your life garden) and started to “chunk time” (Day 13) I found that my productivity in creative writing skyrocketed. To my delight, it’s still going strong. The Art of Stopping Time is a treat to read - each gong is only two, shortish pages or less and the author’s tone is conversational; soothing. There’s no fluff, yet it’s thought-provoking and no-nonsense. As with all personal development, it does require action and commitment. :) I loved the book – five stars, highly recommended. It’s the one I’m giving for Christmas this year.

Feel Busier than Ever, But Not Very Productive? Then Read This!
Over the last 10 years, I feel like there is a big shift happening. People have seemingly become busier than ever, and yet, most people feel like they are not very productive. We have more distractions competing for our time and attention than ever before, and it has become harder to actually focus and get stuff done. Yet, we simultaneously have more demands on us to get stuff done than ever before. Sound familiar? It does for me at least. As an entrepreneur, I often feel like I need to clone myself (ideally a few times) to be able to actually handle everything I need to do. It's easy to feel overwhelmed. And it's all too easy to procrastinate and just not manage time effectively. This book is the best thing I've read on the subject of time management. In just a few days of practicing a handful of techniques from this book, I have already dramatically increased my productivity. (And that translates into feeling a lot better about myself and my day, at the end of the day). The email chunking technique alone has made a huge difference for me, and has eliminated the constant distraction of incoming emails. Moreover, there is an interesting shift happening... Instead of EVERY moment of the day feeling busy and like I have demands on me, I am able to shift in and out of "work mode." So I have chunks of the day where I can completely disconnect and not feel rushed or preoccupied, but just relax into pure enjoyment of the moment. If you often feel rushed and like you have more on your plate than you can handle, then do yourself a favor and get this book right now. I am feeling the benefits already.

One of the best books I have read
I like this style of writing, you can always fit a portion within your day. I enjoyed many of the tips. Some religious concepts are inserted like facts, while sometimes the opposite happens, concepts are inserted to go along with mainstream liberalism. It is funny how many times taking 5 breaths into the lower abdomen technique is repeated. Sometimes too much.
