Very good for the price
I took a chance on this and bought it instead of the much more expensive Bosch, as this tool isn't something I'd likely use a huge amount, and actually the reviews on the Bosch suggested that there were plenty of problems with it even at two and a half times the cost. I was pleased with the general quality of the tool, and the number of accessories provided. It's noisy in use, but that's expected. Maybe a higher end tool would be quieter, but I've not used one so couldn't comment, and it doesn't really bother me; I just put on my ear defenders. I've hooked it up to a Henry vacuum cleaner through a home made cyclone (made from a plastering bucket with an MDF lid bolted down onto it and some plumbing bends, quarter filled with soapy water) and it doesn't seem to make that much dust. I did have a problem with sanding discs flying off, which I initially thought was down to the sanding plate on the sander itself, but it turns out is actually due to the weak backing on the cheaper sanding discs. I think the fibre loops on the discs are breaking under load - perhaps due to the heat generated when sanding - and they then won't stick to the sander plate anymore. Keep an eye out for flying discs, as it's quite easy to miss them going flying off and carry on sanding with the base plate only, which eventually will lead to it wearing out and needing replacement. Not a fault of the sander itself, though.

...i usually prefer to spend more on power tools but decided to take a risk and i'm glad i did.
Much better than i was expecting. It seems very solidly made and appears to be made to a good standard. I've been using it for over a year for the occasional DIY job and it works very well. Sands wood to a very smooth surface and has plenty of power. It's very versatile as well, I've also used this for polishing. It was a lot cheaper than a lot of the others, and i usually prefer to spend more on power tools but decided to take a risk and i'm glad i did. It's exceeded my expectations and is a brilliant tool to have. It's served me well this last year and i'm sure it will continue to do so for years to come. Would highly recommend this.

A Good Reliable Sander
This item arrived well before the time stipulated and was packed really well. Being a woman of a certain age I needed a sander which was easy to hold and use and this fit the bill perfectly. Although quite heavy its two handles mean that I have control of the sander. The only downside is the amount of dust it creates, I though mistakenly that there was an attachment for a vacuum included in the pack, the outlet on the sander does not attach to a vacuum. Despite this good value for money and well worth the purchase price.

I think the Vonhaus 430W Sander is something to have to do most of my sanding.
The Vanhaus orbital sander is very easy to use and handle. I bought the previous model which was the 350W version and it worked really well on multiple surfaces. However, I sometimes feel a lot of paid in my palm and four arm from time to time caused by the grip and vibration of the sander. But apart from the it was worth the buy. Now, because the 350W Vonhaus Sander world cause me pain, the 430 model was the answer to this. Itโs very comfortable to hold, it the weight is very balance and I feel very little vibration when using it. ๐๐ฟ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐ฟ Iโm truly happy with this product. I feel Iโll be using the brand for years to come.

Well made, and it works.
I didn't even know random orbit sanders existed. Everyone has heard of a sander - but this is a random orbital sander. Anyway - it's excellent. I used it to sand down a couple of bit of bumpy plaster on a wall I'd recently DIY'd. It covers everything in dust and set off the fire alarms. But it produces an excellent finish - and didn't take too long for the relatively small bit of wall I needed to do. It also smoothed out parts of the wall that had paint on and parts that didn't. When I say smooth I really mean it - it's quite remarkable.

Not bad, orbit stops
Not bad; but not great. Gets the job done, just. I used mine on a table top, sanding through 10 grits up to 2000 grit and then used the polishing function. Like another reviewer, my unit doesnโt have enough power to keep spinning in circles when applied to the material to be sanded, the spinning mechanism just seems to stop which makes it a vibrating hand sander, as the orbital feature drops off. It did the job, but it would be a faster process if the disc span when it was actually in use. Nice little kit, great to include polishing pads, just a shame it doesnโt orbit when applied to wood.

Little or no power, can't spin under it's own weight - let alone with any pressure
bought this and never used it after 1st couple of tries. Bout to sand guitar with very light grade discs - but it can't sand, it just sticks even on the highest settings. I wouldn't advise this - and others have the same issue. No power, didn't return as was busy now stuck with it taking up space. Will likely buy another from Screwfix as I need a tool to do this function. poor - will never buy Von haus ever again
