It was a gift for my Grandson. It arrived just before his birthday, brilliant as I had left it late in ordering it. He loves it!

Tintin books are amazing it has great illustrations and it's a good story plus you can buy 1 month as a treat

As a child, I remember going to the library and checking out the Tintin books and being drawn into the adventure, wishing I could be Tintin. Now in my late 20's, I have decided to purchase all the Tintin books so that when my 2 year old is a bit older, I can share the world of Tintin with him :-D

Tintin adventure #5 The Blue Lotus is set in 1931 during the Japanese invasion of China. Although it is recommended for children age 8-12 it has very adult themes of war, opium drug-smuggling, espionage, violence and torture, which would have been very avant-garde when it was first published. High quality artwork by Herge and colouration is to a high standard. Enjoyable read, although, will be regarded as very cliched and stereotyped and a book of its time.

Brilliant

My eleven-year old son absolutely loves the entire Tintin series. I purchased all the comics and he so enjoys them that I have to restrict him to reading one a day, which I make available to him when I pick him up at school. They are so well written, clever, and all around entertaining that despite an iPad and an iPhone that my son owns, he opts instead to read his Tintin comic on the drive home from school. Your child will unsuspectingly learn world history and pick up on great vocabulary. Highly, highly recommended!!!
