Great for Syrians
I bought this for my Syrian and it’s perfect. It’s a lot bigger and hangs lower than I thought it would. It’s built from pretty sturdy material, rope, wood and chains. He tends to use the sling more than anything else, for grooming, he seems to like it when it sways. This would be perfect for gerbils and rats as it’s has a ladder running across the top and rope stairs up one side which my hammie doesn’t bother with. It does take up quite a lot of room so having a high cage is a must. It would just dangle on the floor otherwise. I have the extra large Trixie cage with three shelves and it’s even a little low for that. It can’t really be shortened with the chains at the top as that would result in the ladders that run across the top deemed useless unless they aren’t needed. I do like hanging toys as it frees up floor space for hiding treats I would recommend it, it’s good value for money. I would check the dimensions though to make sure you have enough room.

Brilliant Quality, Very happy with my purchase.
This Hammock and Playbridge was purchased for my 11 year old daughter's 1 year old Syrian Hamster. Cookie her hamster is one of the biggest Syrians we have ever had and we've had 4 over my lifetime. So gaining toys suitable for her are paramount. Our Hamster's cage is a very tall one and that helped as one side has a large drop where this hammock can be modified to fit if needed, although we were lucky enough to be able to use it as it comes. We actually bought this to replace a humongous one bought elsewhere that had no chance of ever fitting a reasonable hamster cage, even our large one. It was more suited to a chipmunk aviary or something. Anyway, I was pleased when this hammock/bridge came well made, vibrantly coloured and was welcomed by an adventurous Syrian hamster who immediately went through the hoop and then sat on the hammock which was encouraged by giving her a treat as soon as she sat on it. My daughter is always searching for new toys for her hamster, it is extremely spoiled and well loved. I am so happy that this toy pleased both her and the hamster. Thank you for a quality product.

If you are buying for your rat
I bought this for my rats after reading a review by another rat owner. I was initially disappointed, finding out the hammock is incredibly small, a rat couldn't snuggle up in it at all. However, they use it as a step between levels and their other hammocks. The check block and rope has seen more action than any of their other chew blocks which is great. The ladder at the top is a great height from the cage roof for a rat to fit. One of my rats in particular just loves sitting up there for a while or running back and forward over the horizontal ladder. I would recommend it as a good toy for rats, but not for the hammock, which for me is much smaller than the photo represents

Good addition to any cage, but may be more suited to larger cages due to size
Purchased this for two mice as I wanted some hanging toys for the cage which they can climb on and such. The product is very large and doesn't quite sit like a hammock in the cage I have. I have tied the metal suspensions in knots to make it hang a little more as opposed to sit on the floor of the cage. The top ladder, however comes up quite high to the roof of the cage in doing this. But it makes it sit more as opposed to just catch on the floor. Either way, my mice enjoy burying themselves under the hammock as opposed to sit in it, but from time I will catch them sat on it. They enjoy climbing the side although it's a little high for them with them being small rodents. The quality of the product is very good. There is a nice material lining the hammock and the wood and rope toy is very sturdy and durable, so would work well for larger rodents also. It makes a nice hiding and climbing spot for my mice and keeps them happy so I cannot complain really. Just wish it was a little smaller so it would sit and hang better in the cage. Edit: I tied the chain suspensions through a loop so that it sits in a swinging position and they both have enjoyed using it to climb and sit on in the day If you're worried about the sizing, you can just tie the chains through a loop to pull it up more. My mouse however, have managed to chew through the hammock material as well as the ladder which is now broken. If your rodents are prone to chewing lots go for a wooden hammock/swing instead as the material has become dirty and has now got a large hole in it

One happy hamster
Great product. Quite large but our hamster is in a converted indoor guinea pig hutch so it fits perfectly to hang from the roof and he loves climbing in it. Looks like it could be converted to be made smaller taking links out. Because our cage is big it looks the right size but I can imagine that if its bought for a standard hamster cage it will be quite large. Our Syrian hamster fits snugly in the hammock and loves climbing and chewing on the rope ladder. Keeps him occupied and means there is less of a big gap from roof to floor for him if he decides to climb up high.

Was good
My gerbils adored this but after some time it just made the chains rust? Was odd so had to throw on first notice.
