Slimline Ecoheater Tube Heater with Thermostat White 1000mm 120W

The thermostat function, discreet, easy on the eyes design, economy of running and other peoples positive reviews prompted me to buy this product. Am glad I did. Have used it in a small conservatory, permanently now for a few months, on a very low thermostat setting. The chill of the room has gone and all window condensation disappeared. So the conservatory is now being constantly and subtly aired with a tiny amount of warmth. So much better for it - no signs of mould etc now and always smells aired. Yes other types are cheaper, but I'd say it's not worth considering one without a thermostat, so worth paying extra for that feature alone. And it looks so much nicer than some of those other chunkier fatter designs! The thermostat function also means that you can just forget about it, knowing that as soon as the sun hits the conservatory it will switch off, without you having to constantly try to remember and be in and out of there trying to control it manually. So it's an economical and no hassle option! Obviously, if you want to sit out in a conservatory in the winter that has no other heating, this background low level heating will not be sufficient in itself to make you feel warm... but then it's not meant to be! But it takes the chill off the room and as background protective heat and an aid to good air circulation, it's pefect. Very pleased.

They do the job good quality I will definitely buy another one if these ever need replacing

I have a condensation issue in our house and despite painting the wall with a special paint, the problem came back. I brought this product to help keep a small amount of warmth in the room without the need to keep the central heating on. So far, it is slowly helping to reduce the amount of moisture in the air. No more black spots are growing, so far so good. Its a good source of light warmth, and hope it won't use much electric consumption.

I bought this heater for a greenhouse I have, to stop the temperature from dropping near to freezing during the winter and killing my plants. I grow tomatoes, chillies and a lime tree in there. Down to detail The heater is Small and compact. It comes well packaged and sufficiently proteced from damage in transit. Supplied in the box are 2 mounting brackets/floor stands(depending what you want to do with it) which are made in 2 parts to clip around the tube, and a single screw pulls the 2 setcions together. There is a supplied 1.5 meter power cable to fit into the end, and a foam precut spacer to go between the heater and the power lead on insertion. I figure that it is to stop moisture ingress into the lead plug/heater connection if there is moisture in the area.The instructions don't say, but that's my guess. The heater has a built in thermostat, but there is no temperature setting marks (as in 20,21,25 degrees or whatever). So you turn it on low, allow the area to heat up and gradually increase the setting a bit at a time until the desired room temperature is obtained. maybe not the best method, as it takes a bit of time, but it does work if you persavere. Once it's set, just leave it to do it's thing. Though it's not quite winter yet, the temperature is dropping and I can see the heater keeps my greenhouse above outside ambient temperature so far. Wattage is stated at 120 watts, but that would be 120 watts if on for a full hour, you probably find that it's less than that as the heater switches on and off. If it's on for a full hour, chances are you need a bigger model for the size of the area you have. Note: the maker staes 120 watts, but does not state if thats 120 watts output from the heater, or 120 watts draw from the mains. Either way, it's around a light bulb of 100watts.. pennies to run. Recommendation: I fitted the heater into an RCD plug for my own peace of mind. If there was a fault with the heater or a fire when I am away from the house, the RCD should cut the power to the heater. For an extra £7-10, I would suggest getting one too. Your choice :) Would I recommend to friend and family... Yes Would I buy again... Yes. I actually also bought at 500mm 55W version for another area as well. I purchased this heater to heat the smallest of areas and it even struggles to do that! It's a stab in the dark as to what the temperature set point is as in essence you have to get it to full temperature and once the room is at the set point you want you turn the dial until it clicks off. That's it.. no idea what temperature it is but it will click off and on at that set point. So when it says it's temperature adjustable it's really not. There's no more than an unmarked dialed and an led light. Given how it doesn't heat the smallest of spaces and I have no real thermostatic control I couldnt recommend it less!

Good background heater, don't expect it to keep a room warm in really cold weather, I had to remove the plug to go through a wall, so couldn't return as the thermostat was hopeless, I keep it on high setting when cold

I bought this because my cats have to sleep in the utility room for various reasons, and it can be very cold in there in the winter weather because it is an old stone house. First the product arrived very promptly indeed. Second, it was pretty easy to set up for a basic handyman like me - you simply need to drill rawl plugs into the wall and then screw the mounting in, but that was simple enough and then it was very firmly fixed. Very simple, very well made, i like the thermostat (even though it doesnt have a temperature gauge as such you can see pretty clearly how much heat it is delivering). It takes the frosty edge off the room, which is exactly what it is supposed to do. Job done. I did read one review which said it came with a little cage to keep cats and children off, but mine didn't and I don't think it claims to. In any event, fixed on the wall it is nicely out of the way. For a small room, or greenhouse,. I would recommend this. I can imagine in a bigger area like a garage etc you might need more than one but it does exactly what it says. Well done.

We have an integral garage with a steel up and over door and daylight visible around the edges so as you may imagine this is a very cold environment during the winter months, I purchased this heater a few weeks back with the realistic hope that it would make the garage a bit less cold... and it certainly does, I do leave it running almost continually on the lowest thermostat setting (although I don't think it's ever warmed the garage enough to switch off) it sits on a sheet of reflective foil on the garage floor next to the shoe rack keeping our shoes... less cold. I should add that I have applied some polystyrene and foil insulation to my garage door to help retain some of this heat being generated and I'm sure that this is helping with the overall results. In summary I think it's a good heater for the price and (hopefully the running cost) as long as you have realistic expectations if you are putting it in a poorly insulated environment.

Ich suchte nach einer verbrauchsgünstigen Frostabwehr für einen etwa 7m² Raum in meinem Holzschuppen (40mm-Wände), die flammfrei ist und keine Feuergefahr durch die Abstrahlung etwa eines Heizlüfters darstellt. Da vergleichbare Produkte anderer Hersteller ausverkauft waren, fand ich diese Alternative. Die Verarbeitung ist solide, einzig die Befestigung der Wand-/Bodenhalterung greift nicht fest und lässt (möglicherweise gewollt) ein Verschieben der Röhre zu. Zur festen Fixierung ist also die Anbringung an den Enden erforderlich. Die Wärmeabgabe erfolgt gleichmäßig auf der gesamten Länge. Der eingebaute Thermostatregler lässt keine genaue Temperatureinstellung zu, sondern gibt schwach bis stark durch Balkensymbole vor. Da ich die Heizung mit höchster Stufe an einem separaten Thermostat betreibe, habe ich mich hiermit nicht näher beschäftigt. Montiert ist die Heizung vertikal an der isolationsschwächsten Stelle der Tür. Die Heizleistung übertrifft meine nicht hohe Erwartung. Unter den vorliegenden Bedingungen (verbunddichte Bohlenwände, luftisolierter Boden, bündig schließende Doppelglastür) erreichte ich bei einer Nachtaußentemperatur von -1,6 Grad, einer Innentemperatur ohne Heizung von 0,4 Grad nach 6 Stunden immerhin eine Erwärmung auf 4,8 Grad Wie sich dies bei stärkerem Frost darstellt, bliebt abzuwarten. Ich ziehe in Erwägung, dann eine zweite Heizung zu installieren. Ein großer Nachteil ist das mit einem UK-G-Plug versehene Kabel. Dass bei einer Lieferung in Dtl, nicht einmal ein Adapterstecker dabei ist, geht gar nicht. Interessierten sollte klar sein, dass es sich nicht um eine klassische Raumheizung handelt. Der Wirkungsgrad ist durch die geringe Leistungsaufnahme zu gering. Die von mir angegebene Erwärmung muss auch unter den Bedingungen wärmeaufnehmender Holzwände gesehen werden. Ob man z.B. ein Gewächshaus mit Plexiglaswänden, in dem es zieht wie Hechtsuppe, damit frostfrei bekommt, wage ich zu bezweifeln. Direkt daneben gestellte Pflanzen haben aber sicher gute Chancen, zu überleben....
