I have yet to see how effective it is as compost for my pond plants but I am pleased with the quality and that it is packed into small bags that I can lift.

Great. Arrived promptly and was as described.

Arrived in good time. Havent filled water lilly pots yet as its so cold.

Arrived “double bagged” which was a pleasant surprise. Used for pond plant pots, soaked well before submerging in the water but there was some floaty bits but these were easily removed with a repurposed kitchen sieve. From sieving the floaters out no more appeared.

Buying aquatic soil/compost is hit and miss...this is a hit. This is the proper stuff, dark black, dense. I line my planting containers and cover the surface with grit anyway, but it stays put, the plants feel firm when potted. The last aquatic soil I bought was terrible, like sand, the plants failed to grow, leaves yellowed and died. I'm confident that now they've been re-potted in this they will thrive, after gardening and looking after plants for many decades you get a feel for things. If I'm wrong I'll update this review, but feel confident its the good stuff. I would just like it to be cheaper, why is aquatic soil so much more expensive? Having said that 20L will likely last a few years, I'll repot all my pond plants in this now and keep the rest for the next re-potting session in a couple of years or so. Bottom line, if you want to buy aquatic soil/compost online, this is the one to get.
