This Tea Is Deliciously Full Of Possibilities!
Since I disliked rooibos intensely but needed a black tea alternative to help prevent gallbladder flare-ups, I decided to try honeybush tea instead. My first batch of Honeybush chai was absolutely lovely. The tea itself is mellow, smooth, and naturally sweet. It smells wonderful straight from the bag, and the packaging is excellent quality as well. (I know thatโs a strange thing to mention, but the bag feels sturdy enough to last through the full 16 oz without falling apart.) I highly recommend trying honeybush if you: want an herbal alternative to black tea dislike rooibos or just want more variety in your tea collection. I specifically recommend Davidsonโs Honeybush because itโs reasonably priced while still feeling like a high-quality product. Recipe for Honeybush Chai: 2โ4 tsp honeybush tea 1 cinnamon stick, lightly crushed 2 whole cloves 4 green cardamom pods, crushed pinch of dried ginger BREW FOR A LONG TIME. This is key! At least 20 minutes. Unlike black tea, it doesnโt turn bitter, and the flavor just keeps getting richer. Serve with milk and sweetener of choice. A teaspoon of vanilla Torani syrup (sugar free or regular) makes it taste almost like dessert. You can also customize it endlessly: apple pie spice + caramel syrup = Caramel Apple Chai pumpkin pie spice = Autumn-in-a-cup a spoonful of preserves + milk = โCobbler Teaโ The wide variety of Torani syrups and sauces make honeybush incredibly versatile. I can already tell this tea is going to become a staple in my kitchen.

South African Honeybush
Been enjoying THE HECK out of this tea. I'm on a mission to figure out my "quaffing," aka drinkable at any time teas. God my standard rotation down of detox and green tea, and I decided that honeybush (in bags) so far is my favorite, but my brand has been sold out for a long time, and I knew I wanted to branch into looseleaf teas, so I got the Davidson's South African Honeybush. But at first I didn't like it that much, and so, knowing that the wide, "squat" shaped tea kettles make better tea (in my experience), I got the 16oz. borosilicate "Maru" teapot, and wow, I started really liking this Davidson's honeybush!!! It has a slight "soap" flavor, which "sounds" bad, but, I like this honeybush a lot more than my prior favorite!!! So, I think the "soap" flavor is actually floral --which just adds to the flavor and character of this tea!!! I love this one so much that I'm burning straight through it (and you only need a small amount to brew a cup)!!! Now that I have the 16oz. Maru kettle, I'm going to get the 24oz. so that at least one is guaranteed to be available to use at all times. I presently try to dry out the used tea leaves so they don't stick to my little composting cup that I take to the compost pile, and so my tea kettle is idle for a while before I can use it again. By adding the 24oz. kettle, I not only have a kettle which will allow me to make a 16oz. cup while the other kettle/filter is idly drying out the used leaves, but of course, then, I can make two 12oz. cups for myself and a guest, or a 24oz. cup for myself. It's the perfect arrangement, and I'm only mentioning this because it's an excellent way to do looseleaf tea. The kettle/brewing method really matters!!!! My other "quaffing" teas so far are dandelion root, green tea, toasted barley, and chocolate rooibos. I love this Davidson's honebush so much, though!!! It tastes delicious, like "sweet water," with that delightful floral accent!!! It's like a treat to drink, and it's also better while warm/hot, this is not a "long steep" tea. I will not be buying the honeybush in teabags anymore, though, because the Davidson's honeybush, brewed in the Maru teapot, is so, "top of the game." Get it, it's a great tea for anytime!!!

Organic high quality caffeine free tea
I Love this organic tea. It is my new favorite. I find this Honeybush tea to have a milder taste than the similar rooibos tea that I have tried in other brands. For anyone who needs to avoid caffeine this tea is perfect for relaxation. It has a really good aroma and smooth taste and really doesn't need sugar because it so so flavorful. I use a little organic soy milk with it sometimes or drink it plain. This is my second experience buying bulk tea from this company. They have a very high quality product and I highly recommend them.

Honey bush - Quality flavor at a bargain price
Upon opening the bag I was struck by the fresh, earthy sweet aroma of the tea. Very pleasant. I brewed a teaspoonful in a mesh tea ball in a pint of water and let it cool. The resulting color of the liquor was a deep golden red. The tea has a grassy, sweetish scent, not very strong. The tea itself is full-bodied, grassy-leafy flavored, some tannins, with little hint of minty sweetness in the finish. Overall the flavors are very subtle. A rounded, pleasant glass of tea, perfect for relaxing. Another honey bush Iโve tried is more flavor forward, with twiggy, piney notes and bright honey sweetness. Like fine single malts, each expression of honey bush tea has its merits.

Excellent price... Delicious tea...
This herbal red tea is very soothing and is naturally sweet enough on its own that I often skip adding my raw honey to it. I'm not sure yet about the health benefits [personally] but here's what I found from a google search: Honeybush tea is probably the most underrated and least known health beverage I've come across. Grown in the high mountains of the Western and Eastern Cape regions of South Africa, this unique plant is not only delicious but it is extremely healthy for you. Honeybush tea is made from the leaves, stems and flowers of the honeybush shrub. It's been cultivated by the indigenous people of South Africa for hundreds of years. The Tea contains no caffeine, very little tannins, has many of the same health benefits as rooibos tea and makes a superb iced tea. Each cup contains healthy anti-oxidants, along with minerals such as: Calcium, Copper, Iron, Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium, Magnesium, Manganese and Zinc. This herb is said to have positive effects in preventing breast, prostate, and uterine cancer; reducing the risk of osteoporosis; having anti-fungal and anti-viral properties; lowering cholesterol levels, and much more. Most important of all, Honeybush is a pleasant tasting beverage that can be consumed every day.
