Mitre Aircell Football Shin Pads

I bought these as part of a football kit for my grandson's birthday, and albeit they're in a sealed product pack, they're super lightweight and the protective outer guard feels very sturdy and I'm convinced they'll do their job very well whilst also comfortable to wear. The product images shows that they separate presumably so the protective padding can be laundered (I'll have to read the micro print instructions about that), and I'm sure he's going to be delighted with them. I have nothing negative to say. Delivery was 2 days, the price was lower than expected and hopefully grandad got it right. Lastly, whilst I didn't think of or look for them whilst researching, is whether there's a multi-coloured product say in black, white, red and blue or selectable colours so you can change the outer protective guard colour should you have to wear different coloured socks. Does that sound like a good idea (or not) assuming such a product isn't already available? Highly recommended vendor, price, product and delivery time, but more importantly my grandson. UPDATE: He's just advised me that they're 2 sizes too small (3XL) so unless he either gives them to anyone or something else as they were a gift or they'll likely be making a return trip, but this has no bearing with respect to the vendor, product and price comments originally stated.

This was something of a desperate purchase. My eldest daughter doesn't normally play football, but she was magically selected to compete in a school competition at quite short notice - and asked to bring her own shin pads. So I checked prices on Amazon - fairly reasonable - but I wasn't overly confident at getting the sizing right. So I decided instead to go to Decathlon. Then I forgot. Thankfully, I had Prime to fall back on in my hour of need. I decided to order the Mitre Aircell shin pads online, as they looked pretty decent, had good reviews and were reasonably priced. The size chart was related to child height so I felt I had a good chance of being able to order the correct size. They turned up the day before the competition. My daughter tried them on and they were a really nice fit - she's 145cm / age 11 - curved just enough to fit snug on her leg and with an adaptable, wide, elasticated strip with velcro fastening. She wasn't, therefore, reliant on decent-fitting socks to keep them in place. She liked them, they looked good and after I punched them a few times to test them out she assured me she didn't feel a thing! Unfortunately, the match was then postponed! So after all the faff, she might not get to wear them for a month or two. Nightmare! The good news is, after she's worn them for her solitary match, my youngest daughter - who thankfully plays football - can at least get some wear out of them in a couple of years' time. On another note, they do look great. Which is perhaps not essential when you're trying to protect your body parts, but it does matter though, doesn't it?

First a quick word on sizing - I was a bit confused after reading some of the other reviews but can report than the Small is pretty much perfect for our 9 year old daughter who is about 136cm tall - I was considering the next size up but having tried these I feel that would have been a little too big. You don't want shin pads to impede on your movement or feel awkward when wearing them, which can be the case if they are too large. The shin pads themselves are great - lightweight yet nice and solid and offering loads of protection. Most importantly they are very breathable so don't get sweaty and clammy like other's we have used, even when worn for extended periods. In conclusion then these are great for the money - yes there are loads of others that are slightly cheaper but I'd suggest it's worth paying a little more as these hit that sweet spot for price v performance.

These shin pads offer great protection to keep you safe during football. They are well padded and have a hard outer shell to ensure you don’t get hurt. I like the colour way however it does stand out quite a lot and the shin pads are fairly large, not like those ones you see modern day players wearing. If you’re just looking for something to protect your shins at all costs and not something that offers no protection but just is there to keep in line with the rules then these are right for you.

Looked brilliant quality but sadly far too small for my son. He is 13 and 5 foot 11 so I ordered the XL but they were much too small for him so bear that in mind when choosing size. Shame as they look like they would be much more breathable than his previous ones and a nice padded back so comfy too

These are really nice shinguards. They are very light and come with a 'sock' to keep them in place. I have used them without the sock and they still stayed where they needed to be, but I think this depends on your shin, football sock tightness (if that's the right word) etc. The only thing I have as an issue is that it doesn't state which is if for the left or right leg and in a rush I put them on the wrong way round, got halfway through a game and they became annoyingly uncomfortable and I didn't know why! Silly me. They feel a little on the small side, but I bought a large, am 5'10 and medium build and they are adequate. Not sure if the XL would have been better or too large. They obviously dont offer the protection of the ankle, its just going to stop a kick to the shin, but I dont need the full support (as it slows me down) and I only go half in to challenges anyway.

I bought these because my Labrador puppy loves chewing shinpads, so I needed a new pair! These Mitre Aircell Football Shin Pads are great—lightweight and really breathable, so they don’t feel sweaty after a long game. The fit is comfortable, and they stay in place well. I also like the impact protection; they feel solid without being heavy. The black and red design looks good too.

Primero decir que compre estas espinilleras y me enviaron las Aircell Power, me imagino que la espinillera en si es igual de grande porque son identicas, lo unico es que las otras no llevan la media, tienen tobilleras y en la bolsa pone XL y encima son más baratas. Yo las veo para mi hijo de 10 años, pero no para mi.

Buon prodotto, traspirante e leggero. Giocare a pallone protetti e non sentire il peso del parastinco è un’ottima soluzione. Resistente e di buona fattura
