Cleaned first with the Renovo cleaner, the hood was then coated with the Reviver - apply with a 2" paintbrush taking care not to let it run. This stuff is really runny, so a damp cloth to catch spills is vital, but it covers very well and the colour is deep and rich - covered up all the remaining spots on the roof after the cleaner had done its thing. The 500ml bottle is just enough to do a MINI roof but a second coat (second bottle!) made the hood really dark and now it looks like new. Do a small area first, if that looks OK the following day, then crack on...👌👍🤞 Good luck... **Q: Which is the best way to apply it?** A: After carefully masking off the body work near to the soft top start in the centre covering from front to back and work out towards the edge .you need to be reasonably quick and as soon as you finish this side do the same on the other side again working from the centre to the edge.This way you will not see any joining of edge along the centre section .But please work fast before one side becomes dry otherwise you will see the join.Good Luck. **Q: Will the reviver cover up faint white-ish old algae marks left after i cleaned using the renovo hood cleaner?** A: You need to go through a three stage process, wash the hood vigorously with the hood cleaning agent more than once and rinse thoroughly and allow to dry. Apply the hood paint solution twice in between allowing an hour for the coats to dry (do not do this in direct sunlight, an overcast day is best). Then apply the sealant. if you do this then your hood will look next to new. **Q: Can this be applied on top of a waterproofer?** A: It can, but the waterproofer inhibits the recolouring a bit. Ive found that the waterproofing really needs to be cleaned off as much as possible with proprietary hood cleaner (Autoglym, Renovo or similar), and the hood really dry before applying the Reviver. I do my MG hood (14 years old) every Summer, followed by a Reproofer, and it looks very good - fades a bit over the year, ready for the next application. I was looking for something to revive it and found this. It works, and has improved the appearance quite markedly. The only reason it doesn't score higher is that, although it can be used alone, and the product blurb on Amazon reads like this, when you read the instructions on the bottle I got the distinct impression that the soft top should have been cleaned with their (Renovo) cleaner, then following application it should be further treated with Renovo water proofer. So its not quite a one-stop-shop, and I felt like it would have been useful to know this before I bought it. In the event, I had some soft top cleaner already (admittedly another brand bought from a proprietary motoring store) so I used that and it worked fine.
