Good drill for general use
Great drill for the money. I had a DHP481 previously that I killed after maybe 18 months. The 481 is clearly more grunty, being able to push through a 32mm self-drive spade bit in most joists. This drill is lighter-duty and more of a handy-man or carpenter's drill than for an electrician, as I am, needing to drill many holes in timber and use large hole saws for downlights, fans etc. Nice in the hand, though, and cheap as chips!

great product
This is one of the best drills out there when you pick it up you know and feel the quality I had to wait about two weeks to get this drill ( I new that when buying ) but it was really worth the wait. The power when drilling either metal or concrete is as good as it gets surprisingly powerful for a 18volt drill it is a bit on the heavy side but I dont mind as I know this is because it is so well made and the best of metal components are in the construction not like some cheap plastic components use in other makes so as to make the drill light would recommend the drill to anyone I use it everyday in an enginering workshop

A good drill, easy to control
This drill replaced a venerable mains-powered hammer drill and I've used it to drill through wood, through a breezeblock partition wall and into housebricks with great success. I find the trigger controls the starting torque very effectively so the drill doesn't twist (and therefore move a little) during that critical first fraction of a second. I haven't had any issues with battery life, although to be fair I've not really needed to use it multiple times an hour as yet. I can't say whether it's the right drill for a professional, but this occasional DiYer is very happy with it.

Very powerful tool, sturdy built but a bit heavy for extensive use
The tool is very powerful and has a sturdy built. Works well as a drill and also as electric screw driver with a lot of force and lots of clutch settings. This tool is a bit heavy for extrnsive use as a hand held screw driver. The price was very low and in total, a very good buy for the money.

A drill
It's a Makita drill. Does what drills do. Use this a lot and had to get another one as the speed trigger went on my old one. Well made and works well.

Buena maquina

Heavy duty, top quality professional tool
Over many years of being a contractor, I have learned that not all Makita 18v drills are created equal. This is an extreme duty model. It is big and heavy and was specifically designed for the most challenging applications: mixing mortar, drilling holes through walls with a 4” hole saw and larger, lifting trucks with a scissor jack. It’s hard to tell by looking at the picture, but when you are holding it it feels like no other Makita drill. It is extremely powerful and will easily break your arm if you are not careful.
