Finally, every meal I have made so far can be refrigerated for a couple of days and reheated. I am cooking for one, so with a few tupperware boxes, I can sort my meals for a day or two in one sitting. Just take it out and blast it in the microwave and hey presto! Whats more, the book includes calories per serving. An absolute godsend in aiding weight loss. This book really is legendary. Had a quick read and what I was looking for was simple, easy, all-in-one recipes with the minimum of prep fuss. This ticks all the boxes and every recipe I’ve tried so far has worked out well. Excellent book!
I am a recent convert to slow cooking. My other half is away a lot and so cooking for one can be a bit of a pain. Slow cooking makes my life so much easier, and means that I eat more healthily as well. I am vegetarian but my other half is a meat eater so I opted for this book over the veggie version because I wasn't sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. There are lots of tasty recipes in this book, and the meat recipes can easily be adapted to make them veggie if you want to. I have to say that the pomodoro pasta sauce is just excellent and tastes better than any I have ever had from a jar or in a restaurant AND it was so so simple. I would highly recommend this book to any one who uses a slow cooker and who wants a healthy selection of recipes. For the price you really can't beat it. The only down side is the lack of pictures, but the content and ease of the recipes more than make up for this minor point. I have already purchased this for my mum for her birthday after she came round and saw mine out on the side and sampled some of the things I have made.

Just What I Needed

Nice low-cal recipes but still tasty
This is a good basic guide to low-cal cooking with a slow cooker, and includes hearty, tasty recipes like goulash, a whole slow-cooked chicken etc that really don't seem like 'diet food' when you eat them but are still low in calories. The recipes are almost mostly nicely balanced and healthy. It's only a small book, though, and doesn't have pictures, so it's not particularly enticing to look through and requires some effort to get excited about. I also hate the use of the word 'skinny' in the title which to me sends out all the wrong messages about healthy eating. Skinniness is not the point! Overall though it's a good basic guide to slow cooking for those of us who are avoiding the fattier meats and things like suet puddings and dumplings that often appear in other slow cooker guides.

Healthy and Delicious
Bought this as a present for my mum who has just purchased her first slow cooker and she loved it! As somebody who in on the Slimming World Diet, she was able to use the recipes which were healthy enough to fit in with her diet. I have eaten some of the food she has cooked from this book and they were delicious! The book itself is small, compact and easy to read. Would recommend as a present or to treat yourself to some healthy and yummy recipes!

Excellent recipe book
Cons - small, slim book, no photos. Pros - far outweigh the above! I've still since gifted it to a friend as been so impressed with it. Atvthe same time I got another, fancier book with photos that I haven't enjoyed the recipes from... I've now cooked several recipes from this little book, they are extremely tasty, easy and low fat, listing ingredients that are easy to get. I've done 2 curries which are amazing! I highly recommend this recipe book.

Really happy with this book. I've been looking for easy prep, fuss free crock pot meals to keep my diet varied and this works on all levels and suits my family perfectly too. Rustic Chicken Stew and Chili Con Carne are two favorites so far. It's great if you're dieting and don't have much time to cook.
