How do these compare to the Apple ones, which I have to keep replacing/breaking every year? i.e. for listening to audiobooks and music on iPod.

I have used these for years because they are so comfortable, thats 3 times a week gym on holiday, I'm on my second pair and I'm not that careful with them

Is the cable on each earphone the same length?

Yes it is, another great feature is the slot to plug in is at a 90 degree angle so it is more durable, as when I used a plug slot that is straight I tend to break the headphones more.- Chris Bergin :)

Hi great earphones however one side stopped working can I get a replacement?

Hi mine are perfectly fine. If one has stopped working get a refund or an exchange. Panasonic is a good brand so I don't anticipate you having trouble. I often buy ear phones, around 3 - 4 pairs a year, sooner or later one ear stops working so I try a different brand. So far so good with the ones that I have bought now. Great value and sound quality, if they stop working will speak Panasonic, as good brands often having good warranties.
