StarTech DP2VGA2 DISPLAYPORT TO VGA VIDEO ADAPTE CONVERTER - (> Other Accessories)

I originally discounted this item, figuring it was a bit expensive compared to some of the ostensibly comparable items available. However, having bought an iClever® Black Display Port DisplayPort Male to VGA Female Adapter Converter, which failed miserably, I came back and bought this instead. The colour cast problems I had with the other item are gone -- this displays identical colours to the primary monitor, and also copes with Windows 7 hibernation, which the iClever didn't. This is definitely a premium sort of product -- the packaging's better, there's a QR Code with a link to the product specification, the Displayport plug is latching, so that it doesn't fall out. All in all, it works as expected, and I can't ask for much more than that. It's more expensive than others, but worth the money for the quality.

bought this to set up an eyefinity gaming rig. it works wonderfully and supports upto 1920x1200 so thats above "HD" resolution. really good product got this on next day delivery. after quite a confusing search online for compatible active adaptors i concluded this to be the best, for my needs, and it works brilliantly. I needed to connect a Dell laptop, via its docking station, to a pair of VGA (analogue, not digital) widescreen monitors. The docking station provides one VGA output, and two digital-only DVI connectors. DVI-to-VGA adapters don't work in this situation, as they simply connect any analogue signals on the DVI connector to the appropriate pins on the VGA connector. However, the docking station is also fitted with DisplayPort connectors in parallel with the DVI ones. This DisplayPort adapter is a lot cheaper than the digital-DVI to VGA equivalents and does the job perfectly. No problems after several months of everyday use.

I ordered 2 of these devices, one for myself, and one for a colleague's computer. We are both using Dell Precision T5610 workstations for CAD purposes, the adapter is plugging into the Displayport socket of an nvidia Quadro K2000. I have heard of no problems with my colleague's adapter, however mine occasionally turns itself off for a second before coming back on. It does it seemingly randomly, but the screen will just go black then in a moment reappear. It's still fine for my use, as I only use it for my emails and some other uncommon tasks that require a second display, BUT I would not reccomend this for anything that requires reliability and constant output such as a multi monitor gaming set up.

This is a simple bit of kit, converting the Displayport to VGA, the video socket on older monitors. The gold-plated connections are good quality and the resulting picture excellent. I've ordered another of the same make, mini-Displayport to VGA, for my laptop too. Just check you order the right size!

My laptop doesn't have strain relieve on the D-type monitor connector and this has always been a frustration. As there was no HDMI option on the laptop I thought there wasn't an alternative until I came across this. With screw strain relieve on the D-type and very good strain relieve on the VGA all is good. Although some have said it is expensive it seems that there is a smart interface to convert the analogue signal to digital(VGA).

Excelente producto funcionó al 100% no había que configurar nada, fue plug and play, el envío como siempre fue genial llego un día antes de lo acordado. El empaque todo bien lo recomiendo ampliamente. Primero pensé que no servía y lo pensaba regresar pero al final era mi puerto de la PC la que estaba mal. Cambie de pc y funciono al 100% nuevamente lo recomiendo con cualquier monitor solo que la pc tenga entrada de display port!

OMG THE QUALITY IS AMAZING .. THESE ARE ACTIVE PORTS WHICH USUALLY WORK MUCH BETTER FOR VIDEO TRANSFER ,,, YOU WILL BE VERY HAPPY WITH THESE... MAY BE A FEW DOLLARS MORE BUT IT IS WORTH IT 100 PERCENT......

Acquistato in sostituzione di un adattatore di tipo passivo più economico ma che non funzionava correttamente (molto spesso il mio monitor HP andava fuori sync, o non veniva rinosciuto) Questo adattatore invece funziona perfettamente, sia su Windows che su Linux. Molto consigliato
