Winsor & Newton Series 7 Kolinsky Sable Water Colour Brush Miniature (size 1)

Great Quality for fine line work, I know they say "watercolour brushes" but I use them for Oils and they are great for the fine detail or line work.I have sizes 000, 00, 0, 1, 2 & 3. and i am very happy with themI use them all for Oil painting and love using them along side my Escoda brushes.Highly recommended the don't shed hair and they hold their shape well even after may uses and washes (Even after Oil and Turpentine is used) and I am sure would be just as lovely for watercolorists too.

These are amazing. Despite going for a larger brush, the point is so fine that it can be used for very tight spaces or detail. You'll find yourself using your smaller brushes less.Also the tip has stayed sharp much longer than my Citadel brushes. Cant recommend enough. I bought this brush for my husband as he paints small warhammer models. He will now not use any other brushes. I have bought him other sizes in the series. He likes the size and material the brush is made of, I believe its sable hair. The quality of the brush is exceptional and as a miniature painter it is important that the brush hairs do not fray or separate and these brushes are amazing. You certainly get a great product and if you do detailed painting these brushes are a must have.

Quality brushes

This is not my first Series 7, So I kind of knew what to expect.Comes well packaged in its own sleeve as well as having a tip protector.I've knocked off on star for the simple reason that it is very overpriced.Tip appears straight as you would expect. As for longevity, it's far too soon to judge. However, my smaller size series 7s seem to be lasting well.

Winsor & Newton Series 7 paint brushes are simply the best brushes you can get. I like using the 00 & 000 size for the art that I do & the cost although expensive is affordable. It is very comforting to know I can buy these brushes online because I like them so much.

I bought the miniature Series 7 version 000 size and the regular Series 7 in 0 and 2 sizes - the larger sizes are like riggers in comparison.I got the 000 for painting fine details on Italian gessoed poplar panels which are very, very flat. The 000 brush holds just enough paint to do a good job and they all paint lovely thin lines - around 100 to 200 microns wide.I use the Winsor and Newton artist's oils with boiled linseed oil and English distilled turpentine and so far (after six months or so) there has been no loss of hairs from any of the brushes - I'm not making any guarantees for anybody else but they have all been okay so far.As soon as I have finished using a brush I always clean it in turps, put it on a piece of tissue to soak up any superfluous solvent, put the sleeve over the end so that it pushes onto the tapered ferrul and then put the protected brush back in the original plastic tube to store it. I don't trust it to a brush holder/case or anything similar that might bend the hairs.In the two images, you can see the 000 in use and also the packaging it comes in that I also use to store it in.

I totally get the hype. They are brushes like high end sable brushes used to be (eg Games Workshop) You will love using them, instantly you feel the quality almost like you don’t want to use them! I’m sure, if you care for them properly, perhaps use a pomade every now and again, a sort of hair conditioner for brushes, they last ages. I love them. Believe the hype.

Pennello eccezionale , di straordinaria qualità e maneggevolezza , non è il pennello adatto per iniziare , i numeri 1-2-3 sono più pratici per chi è agli inizi , ma se ricercate un pennello per i dettagli o le rifiniture per acquarelli , china o inchiostro , bene questo è il Sacro Grall ! La spedizione è arrivata nei tempi previsti, l'imballaggio era ben curato , seppure il pennello avesse la parte metallica leggermente inclinata è bastata applicare un minimo di pressione per renderla perfettamente diritta , il rapporto qualità prezzo è ottimo , un ottimo acquisto insomma.
