The super strong mag-mount will keep the aerial in place on the roof of the car at all (legal) speeds and the high quality cable is of ample length and pre-fitted with a BNC connector. The aerial came securely packaged and is supplied partially assembled and with two allen keys - simply use the supplied nut to fix the aerial to the mount/base and you're good to go. The frequency coverage is listed as 25-2000MHz so by design it would work best on the 2 meter through 11 meter bands but it should receive the lower frequencies as well, just not as efficiently as a longer antenna. If you can give it a good ground plane that will help, i.e. mount it on the largest sheet of metal you have available. **Q: What is the size of this ?** A: It's 25 in. tall, base is 4 1/2 in. dia and about 10ft of cable, ending in a BNC plug. **Q: I have an old analogue yupiteru mvt 7100 and have just tried this aerial but can pick up nothing. is analogue totally defunct now?** A: Don't think so because in addition to my Bearcat I have a very old analogue scanner that still works albeit very slowly when it comes to the scanning. **Q: If I use an extension lead from this aerial to my scanner, will I need an adapter between aerial & extension lead?** A: This aerial terminates with a BNC plug so you would need an adapter between the BNC plug and whatever connector you have on the end of your extension.
