Does this train fit on wooden Brio train tracks? The questions below have mixed answers. What’s the latest on this?

It does fit but the wheels are designed to run on plastic trackmaster track into which the cog type wheels slot. On a wooden track the wheels slip badly.

Has anybody bought one of these recently? is this the new 'redesigned engines' range that is out now? or the older model?

Its just a motorised trackmaster train with James body bolted on top they can be interchanged with other characters from Thomas and friends ie body shell removable and swapped with other character body shells

Can you use this without the track on laminate floor?
