It's been on a year or more and still nice and sharp. Stops animals and also wasters and unwanted family members from accessing your property.

Good value pack of wall fence spikes . Easy to crew to the top of your fence panels . Unfortunately as other buyers have mentioned some squirrels , cats and birds seem to ignore them with impunity . However they are sufficiently uncomfortable for humans to discourage the odd passer-by chancing a leap over your garden fence.

Delivery was quick and smartly packed. Had trouble with pigeons and other large birds making a mess on my garden fences. My fault as I was putting out bird food. In turn cats were attracted to the site because of the birds, settling on the fence awaiting lunch! Firstly, I stopped putting food out and then purchased these fence spikes which were easy to fix to the top of wooden fence panels along the whole length of the garden. It took a couple of weeks for the more hardened animals to give up their plans. I’ve had these for a couple of years now and can confirm that No animals walk along the fence tops. I would have put these all round the garden, but I didn’t want to harm my neighbours as the plastic spikes, although doesn’t break the skin, is very uncomfortable.

I was impressed with these when they arrived, and they fitted perfectly on the balcony ledge (in that the width of 3 strips matched the balcony width perfectly. However, they aren't enough to stop feral pigeons - not in London anyway. I can see how they would be good for cats, and maybe larger birds (seagulls?), but they didn't work for pigeons. I think the spikes need more height or closer spacing for pigeons so they can't stand inbetween the spikes. Have still given them 3 stars as they are nice quality and I think would be good for cats and squirrels, but they are advertised as being effective against large birds. Maybe pigeons aren't large enough. I've replaced them with stainless steel spikes which have been far more effective.

These spikes are much tougher and sharper than they look, so in that respect they are excellent. They are also easy to install - just find a few screws and screw them in. But if you are installing these on a hot sunny day, I have a tip for you. Make sure you leave them out in the sun for half an hour or so, BEFORE you install them, to allow them to expand first. If you don't, they will warp somewhat in the sunshine. I have attached two photos for you to see 1) Installed without warming up first 2) Installed AFTER allowing for expansion. They also work best on fences that have a flat top surface. Fences that are shaped into a peak (a triangular point) are more difficult, as the middle screws cannot easily find a middle point. Overall though, I like the look of them - they are well packaged and well made. They also came with a small warning laminate, which I'm told you are advised to put up - if you don't, then a burglar has the right to take you to court if they injure themselves, because they were not 'warned' about the spikes. Ridiculous, and indeed a thick blanket would probably be enough for a burglar to make these somewhat redundant, but they would have to come prepared, and may still slow them up a bit, and any deterrent is good in my book, so overall, a decent addition to your security measures when it come to deterring the more opportunist house-breaker. Probably worth mentioning to your neighbour though before you install them - if your neighbour got injured somehow, they could also sue you. And if your fence faces a public highway, that could also be a legal mind-field. That all said, I like them!
