A: It's not stainless steel at all.

A: NO. I ordered it looking for real stainless steel wool and upon opening the package I had my doubts so I took a little bit, got it wet, and set it on a paper towel, rusted like crazy by the end of the day.
The best solution I found for real stainless steel wool is the stainless steel scrubby things they make for cleaning. You can stretch them out and cut them apart similar to steel wool and they appear to be actual stainless steel.
