Caffenu Nespresso Compatible Cleaning Pods - Coffee Machine Cleaner x 5

I purchased these after perhaps an embarrassing amount of time owning a coffee machine that uses pods. I regularly maintain my coffee machine, including cleaning and descaling, but no where in the manual did it suggest needing to clean the part where the actual coffee pod is used - which perhaps is one of the most important places! 😅 These are easy to use, instructions are clear, and help to clean the part of the machine that is forgotten about. They seem to work well, with you being able to see what they are removing from the machine in the water. I’m not sure I can taste a difference to my coffee, but my machine had started having a few running hiccups before purchasing these, which I thought may have been linked, and those issues have stopped now. Price wise, I don’t think they’re the cheapest or the most expensive, they seem pretty reasonable, and I tend to use them at the same time as descaling my machine, so I know all cleaning and maintenance is done on the machine and I don’t need to worry, the frequency of this I can’t recall as my machine tells me when it’s needed! Overall great item that I will continue to purchase to clean my machine and keep it functioning for as long as possible.

3.5 stars for this rounded up to four. These were used in a Krups Pixie Clips machine, in a soft water area. The recommendation is that these be used every thirty cups or so, but given that I'd had my machine for several years with no noticeable deterioration in delivery of the drink, I won't be doing this. I bought a box of five capsules that came with a comprehensive multi-language instruction leaflet. There are several safety warnings about handling the capsules. Make sure the water tank is full, as you will need a lot of water. They are used just in the same way as a standard capsule, with the difference that the button for an espresso is pressed first, to deliver a foaming cup of cleaning liquid. After waiting for one minute, the lungo button is pressed, then the used capsule is dropped in to the capsule container like any other. I used the used cleaning liquid dispensed by the machine to clean two stained cups before pouring it down the sink, it worked beautifully. You will then need to repeatedly flush the machine by running it without a capsule in. Even after dispensing some 400 ml of water a cup of fruit tea had a slight white film. The taste wasn't affected, but do be aware. I haven't noticed any positive or negative changes in flavour or dispensing speed. I followed the instructions and cleaned the used capsule container carefully afterwards, disposing of the capsule carefully. I'll use up the box of capsules I bought, but I'm not in a hurry to use the next one.

Did a great job with first use. Clear, straightforward instructions. Worth the money. Bought a Hotel Chocolat Podster for cheap in December and have used it almost every day for 4 months, getting more and more aware of the fact I've never descaled it when I know I should have (but I was waiting for the descale indicator to blink and it never has). My partner regularly leaves pods in the chamber for hours after use and doesn't run a shot of water through the system after use and so I just knew there would be a bunch of coffee oils and gunk building up inside and when researching descaling products I also saw these recommended, so I gave them a go and I'm really impressed! After the initial short shot with this cleaning pod, all the subsequent cleaning product/foam came out pure white, and when I rinsed the machine with the recommended 2 long shots afterwards the water was crystal clear and it didn't splutter once, came out in a steady, smooth, uninterrupted stream, when the machine had been getting really quite spluttery for a while before using this product (which is why I finally bought this). It does say that this product is also a descaler, but since I've never descaled the machine before now, I have also bought a descaler which I am going to run through the machine later this week. After that I will just use these pods as recommended and I believe they will maintain the machine fine by themselves. Very happy.

Every time I use a capsule (after a full descale on my Nespresso EN750 Lattissima Pro), I can't help but wonder if I've been suckered into believing it works via a sort of Emperor's New Clothes self delusion. :-) To clean you are advised to insert a capsule: o Run 30ml of water through o Leave for 2 minutes o Run 100ml of water through (The result is in the attached photo.) o Run 200ml of water through to clean Foamy "dirty" water results for sure, but I'm not sure how much *additional* cleaning is done over and above a full machine descale is -- at least with my Nespresso -- for me, still unclear. All said and done, £1 a pop every so often isn't too much money to worry over, but I can't make up my mind if I'd buy them again.

These are really good, didn't fix my previous machine as that had a different issues, but I put one of these through every few weeks and machine stays clean and improves coffee taste

Good value for money nesspresso machine cleaning pods, the water was quite dirty so I assume it removed a lot of limescale, I used them according to the instructions, but maybe left for a bit longer and run 2 water cycles after. A bit chemical smell, but it’s gone after additional water cycles. Not sure about quality of the cleaning as didn’t felt a difference at the taste of the coffee but definitely less residue after. Would do 5 stars if they will be biodegradable and ecological.
