That was about 2 years ago. Must say its it's now doing no good at all, in fact the pigeons have befriended the owl. We have more than ever. **Q: How do you get the head to turn round** A: It appears quite often that the clear plastic wing, which fits into the vertical slot behind the owl's head is missing or you may find inside after you remove the bottom plastic plug. If it is missing cut a pair of 2" (50mm) triangle wings out of a clear yogurt pot and glue in place. The wind needs this wing to move the head. Best results occur when the owl is place 6 ft of the ground in an open position. Hope this helps **Q: Planning on putting this on bannister on balcony, would the screws go into wood bannister with screwdriver or drill needed?** A: We put ours up on the ridge at the gable end - whilst looks ok hasn't scared the pigeons off! Used our own screws to go into the verge board. For a wooden bannister should be ok, perhaps a pilot hole first so as to reduce the risk of splitting the wood? **Q: Please advise how to remove red plug to access fixing screws and fin. We have tried various tools and methods and it is impossible!** A: Not sure what you have actually tried, but the red plug is only a push fit and should easily pull out by hand. In mine there was no fixings or fin. The purpose of the plug is just to stop insects going inside.
