How much do you use of this

You need very little, obviously this depends on the amount of paint and consistency required - It is primarily use for a lighter palette (whites etc), which can often yellow overtime when linseed is used. Poppy oil is slow drying.

I have never used oil paint before so can i ask what this actually does? Help please

Linseed oil is a painting medium, it can make the oil paints more glossy, transparent and fluid. It dilutes the oil. It also can act as a varnish as it binds to oil paint and dries in solid form (for example if you want to so impasto painting, it leaves a more 3d form).

Can you use this with pigment powder?

Yes, oil paints are made out of linseed oil.

Can this be used with oil pastels?

I wouldn't say so. I have only used it with Oil paints.
