Must Buy
Very good hair product. It does not smell strong of coconut which is good because because I hate coconut. This product on the other hand smells as though it's a good mixture of coconut oil and palmers coco butter! Since using it my hair feels softer and healthier. It melts super easy in the palms too!

Just a little goes a long way
this is the texture of lard... its firm and set but then when you put it on your hand it starts to melt. Its important to rub between your hands until it is properly melted and use very sparingly.I find it hard to get an even coating without missing some bits and other bits being weighed down and looking a bit greasy, even when applying to quite wet hair. It does a lovely job of smoothing dry frizziness though. The smell is I guess subtle natural coconut rather than the very sweet artificial fragrance, and you may be a little disappinted if that's what you expected.I think this would excel when wearing neat French plaits and other up dos as the heaviness won't be a problem and it will help the hair to lay very tidily.Oh, another tip... remember this is mostly grease-like chips are cooked in, so its probably best not to leave in your hair when going in strong sun or before using heat to style, unless you want to fry it!

Eczema sufferers - a good solution
Hi, as I suffer with eczema I have 2 options, keep my hair really short, grade 4 at the longest, or have it longer and use some hair control, eg gel as I look like Don King in the morning! I prefer to have my hair a bit longer however if I use gel I get eczema on my head which is really horrible and I end up with what looks like chronic dandruff. Using hair spray actually burns my scalp, it really does feel like a blow torch. So, I have been searching for something to put on my thick dry hair which makes me look reasonable, ta dah coconut oil.The tub you receive has a solid lump inside which you have to scrape a bit out and rub into your hands until it melts. you then apply to slightly damp hair. Sometimes a small amount of water helps. I do this about 3 times which gives me enough to brush my hair into a style. You will find that throughout the day it tends to get a bit better. The advantage over other gels etc is that it does not dry out so you can brush your hair again and again throughout the day. You achieve the same as a medium hold hair gel.For me I no longer get eczema on my scalp, its actually better than before, and I have some hair controlThe downside is that when you wash your hair not much of the coconut oil is washed away. This is not necessarily a bad thing, although other reviewers do not like this. What I do now is the have a thorough wash once a week with washing up liquid, followed by shampoo. This seems to work fine. You end up with nice smooth hair which is really soft. Some people mistake the smoothness for greasy which I disagree with, unless they really have applied too much.Just make sure that when you apply the coconut oil it has all melted otherwise you end up with clumps in your hair. This product is excellent for anyone with eczema. The other product which is really good is "Really Good Hair Oil" by Fushi, however that is a lot more expensive, has a strong smell which some people do not like, and is a lot easier to overdose your hair.I really hope you find this review helpful, and the people who complain about the texture in the other reviews dont appreciate how difficult it is for eczema sufferers to find hair products.

Absolutely amazing
I will buy this 1000 times. Feels so good on the hair and immediately softens the hair. For someone who has really dry scarp, it does provide a solution to this issue and doesn't itch.

Palmers Coconut Oil Conditioner
First off I would like to point out that this product is recommended specifically for thick, dark, curly hair types - which you only find out once you've bought it and analysed the teeny leaflet attached to the lid! Which is somewhat annoying! I have dark blonde, fine, hair whose ends are quite damaged. To use this product, you scoop out a little blob of the conditioner and rub it between your hands to let it melt. Then, you run it through your hair. On the packaging it recommends you use a pea sized amount - and you really shouldnt use more! The first time I tried it, I used a glob more the size of a grape, and my hair was VERY oily and greasy! Don't be tempted to over use. On my hair, the conditioner is best used at night, and I use Loreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil on my hair during the day - which I prefer to this. However, saying that, I've started putting Palmers on the ends of my hair before bed, after realising how amazing it made it look! My ends are very damaged - frizzy, unmanageable and just unhealthy looking. When I put palmers on them before bed, by morning, after Ive washed my hair, it literally looks like I've just had a hair cut, as my ends are suddenly perfect!Ive given the product three stars because it didn't properly advertise the fact that it's only suited for a specific group of people, and because I really can't use this product on all of my hair, as it just gets way too greasy. However, its still good for highly damaged hair, as it has definately made a difference to my ends. I don't think I'd buy it again, as the bad advertising is something that has really put me off, and I'm certain Ill be able to find a better product for my hair type that doesn't lie to me! :p
