Excellent but instructions could be a lot better
Installed and set up in minutes and very pleased with quality of the video. The instructions could be more informative though. I found the unit wouldn't keep the setting when the power was turned off, these included GPS on, MPH over KMH and the time/date settings. I emailed the manufacturer and to date I still haven't received a reply. From trawling the Internet forums I have worked out that a/ you need to press the exclamation mark button after every setting change and not the OK button to confirm the setting change plus even though it is advertised as having capacitors and no internal battery the unit needs to be left connected to a power source such as a USB charger for 24 hours to charge the minute lithium battery that keeps the settings when powered down. Makes me wonder why excessive heat wouldn't affect this battery when the Ian selling point of capacitor dash cams is there is no battery so they can withstand higher levels of heat inside the car.It would have been nice to have this info in the instructions or even a reply to my email. The Dashcam Viewer software that they recommend to use needs to be paid for before you can get the ful benefit so another £20 to shell out.Overall, now I have it working properly I am very happy with my purchase just a shame I had to go through the bad experience to get to where I am now.

Picture Quality
I bought this camera as a cheap fix for an older 2nd car. Totally surprised at how good it is. The picture quality is great. I use 2K.(1440). To me this is the most important feature along with GPS for speed info. The only small negative is that it takes a little time to master the menu buttons, but once tried everything fell into place. People tell me that a camera this price isn't as good as more expensive camera. I disagree. This camera has good choice of settings and although the screen is small, I have no bother seeing it to enable positioning. Anyway, you need to insert the SD card into the PC for the best view on any camera. The clip/off facility is very convenient as I use a suction mount.Overall, I don't think you could by a better value dashcam. So much so, that I am replacing my Mobius cameras in both mine and my wifes' cars.

Wouldn't buy it again
It works Ok at 1080HD with GPS tracking, but at the higher resolution 1440 the GPS doesn't work.Since 1440 has the better resolution and was the reason I bought it, was a let down.I didn't realise there was a GPS recording problem until after an incident, and then I couldn't produce evidence of my speed.Support at Spy Tec were useless,The problem remains unfixed, so I use it at 1080 now.If you don't want GPS at 1440, it seems fine - but not otherwise.

AVOID
Product became faulty after a couple of months and after contacting SpyTec (who are in the US) they agreed to replace the faulty GPS unit. After sending back the GPS unit (rendering the unit useless as it cannot attach to the car without the sticky pad on the GPS unit) I am still waiting for a replacement from SpyTec. Disgusting customer service. It has been 2 months now.

Good
First impressions are good.Buttons where easy to use and menus easy to follow. I charger it on a Mobile charger and set it up via the menus before fitting it in car.It was easy to fit with the supplied double Usb cigarette light socket adapter, long Usb cable (approx 12 inches of spare cable tucked away on an Smax) and clips. The only thing not supplied was a Sd card. Buy a 32gb card for this & record on lower resolution than max and you will have plenty of spare on card.Overall, much better than an older dashcam bought in 2015 for another car.Update Aug 17:Produced the football needed when another car reversed into our car. Did need to reduce size of image to upload it on Insurance co site.

Excellent for motorhomes
Bought for my motorhome which has close-fitting windscreen blinds, and a previous attempt to fit a camera to the dash behind the blind produced too many reflections and a shaky video. This clips on and off easily, and mounts at the top of the screen within the area swept by the wipers.I bought the clip-on polarised filter which is not a secure fit, but helps enormously in sun when on wet roads. A tiny blob of Blue-tack fixes it more securely.Picture quality is excellent in daylight and reasonable street lighting. If I have a reservation, it's that the instructions aren't as clear as they could be; but against that, once it's been used a few times, this isn't a serious problem. I have no hesitation in recommending this camera.

Stealthy dash camera
This little guy is just what i needed a small dash camera with not extra wires for the gps. I When i buy things i try to buy on the relatively high end of things, to get the features and sort of future proof the specs if that makes sense. However, this dash camera although the price is on the low end, it is 100% a high end product. I have the Mobius action camera now as my rear view camera and the A119 as my main front dash camera. The combination is flawless, combined the capture almost the entire road both front and back, the night time recording is what sent it over the top for me, nice crisp video, license plate can be read easy. The button on the camera are a nice size. Everything about this camera is nice.

Im keeping this one
This is my forth dash camera I purchased online, and this is the first one I am not sending back. I wasn't happy with the other ones, one didn’t last more than a week before I started having issues, the other the gps didn’t work, another was in Chinese. However this A119, it’s not just the quality of the picture, but the GPS works and work well. . This camera is so much better. I love the fact that I do not have to do anything to make this camera work. I get in the car and drive, knowing that if there is ever anything I need to review, it will be there. I tested it for a few days, just leaving it hooked up and doing my normal driving to and from work, and then checked the footage and was pleased. The menu took some getting used to but once I understood how to use it I was fine. I did mess up with the positioning of the mount, and what happened is I had to go out and get more double sided tape. Only issue I have with sticky mounts. But overall amazing amazing camera.
