Review: Lovely potty training book :) - We've just started potty training our two year old daughter and she loves this book! We've started introducing the potty before bath time and before nap time and its just long enough to read to her on the potty so that she stays on there for an adequate amount of time. The hooray button is great because it encourages her to be involved in the story. I like the fact that it talks about both number ones and twos and shows them in the potty (even though my little girl thought it was a sausage!). It describes potty hygiene well and my little girl now knows that she needs to wash her hands afterwards and watches us flush it down the loo. She is also very interested in the page where the princess chooses some pants and loves to sing "up down" when it describes how you pull them up and down! The only thing I dont like about the book is that is shows the princess having an accident on the floor as my little girl thinks this is very funny and, on two occasions, has got up and run off to do a wee on the floor when we get to that page. We have only had the book a week and she has already successfully done a poo and a wee on the potty while reading it. This a lovely, informative book. A must for all toddlers!

Princess Polly's Potty: Excellent starter Book
This is an excellent book. We bought it about 6 months ago based on other good reviews and have only just started actual potty training for our little girl who is nearly 3. Because she's had it for a while, she is familiar with it and it's provided a good learning tool and helped set up the whole process for all of us. It's set out in a simple and light hearted way but still contains all the basics. The book goes through the stages of buying a potty and then buying pants which was a useful talking point when we to buy her some pants. It talks about what a potty is for i.e not for storing toys in or is a hat! And shows a picture of a wee and a little poo in the potty which has created much excitement in our house! She happily sits with the book on her lap and now knows the pages off by heart! When she has success, she points to the relevant pages and talks about it with a press of the Hooray button :-) We are still very much as the accident stage, but the book is useful in dealing with those as there is a page saying how 'we all know (princess Polly) is trying and is such a grown up girl. Recommended buy.

Nice colourful book to help training
Got gifted the Princess Pollyโs a new big sister book for my daughter when her baby sister was born and it was not only a huge hit but really helped my daughter adjust to the realities of having a newborn in the house, crying, feeding etc. Bought this book when we started potty training and it hasnโt been quite so effective - didnโt like how it focused on poops being difficult to do as it put ideas in my daughters head when this hadnโt been an issue for her, but I understand it is for many others so is probably great for them. Overall though itโs still a lovely book and helped us on our journey towards potty training. Itโs still taken out regularly and is good quality with nice pictures and an easy to follow story. I find my daughter reading it aloud to herself while following the pictures

Cute pics, well thought out, we loved it
My 26mo daughter loved this book while potty training and still requests her 'Princess Potty book'. The story that Princes Polly thinks it's OK for baby sister to have nappies but she wants to be more grown up, like the rest of her family, is something kids could easily relate to. The pictures are really cute but clear so don't mystify what is going on in the potty! We especially liked the 'Cheer' button, useful on all sorts of potty-training related occasions :) There are pages of potties and pants to help Polly choose from which is fun like shopping. As well as the basic training messages which are nicely reinforced e.g. keep on trying, practice pulling her pants up and down (don't laugh it's an essential skill :) the book covers that it's fine to have accidents and she is still trying very hard and a clever girl; and also - and I think more unusually - (and sorry about this) that your little one might find having a poo in the potty much more difficult to adjust to when she has been used to using nappies but that's ok. This might really help some kids. The book ends on a high note that Polly will now be able to teach baby sis how to use the potty when the time comes. Overall nicely thought out and beautifully illustrated. Recommended.

Perfect book to support your child with potty training
Useful and engaging book for little ones beginning their potty-training journey. The fun sound button added that layer of fun and excitement for my daughter while keeping her motivated. The illustrations and simple, encouraging language make it easy for toddlers to understand each step. My daughter loved pressing the sound button to celebrate using the potty-it made the process feel rewarding and fun. Highly recommended for any family with a toddler! (Also used Pirate Pete for my son)

Fun book for toddlers
My 28 month old loves her potty and knows what it's for, but we're just starting to encourage her a little more to go when she wants to instead of wearing a nappy. I bought this book after she played with it at a friends house and she loves it. At first she'd press the button a little too often...! But now she sits and "reads" through it, pointing out everything. (She especially finds the wee and poo funny and now presses the button when she gets to those pages!) The pictures and bright and fun and it's a lovely introduction to potty training. My daughter has a baby brother now so I adapt the book to say he wears nappies, instead of the baby girl in the book. Now everytime my daughter sits on the potty she runs around trying to find "Polly poo, where's Polly poo?!", so it's already been a well read book in our house!

Made my little one potty
I like this book but it does have more words than expected and might be better suited to a 2.5 - 3yr old. I like the fact it is clear and very visual, the cheer button is a nice touch and simple words used like 'wee' and 'poo'. At the back of the book you pull off a sticker to reveal the plastic tab, pull it out and even if button is not working first time persevere. I had to push the plastic back into the slot and pull out again for it to start working. After all of that my daughter decided she didn't appreciate the cheer button and proceeded to run away and cry. I think my 23 month old is a little wary of strange noises but will update my review after she has some time to get used to it.

Same as the boy version
Decent book. But we have the boy version and bought this thinking it would be different, but itโs not. Itโs literally exactly the same but with a different name.

Too precious
I thought the button would make a flushing sound, but instead it's the sounds of cheers for precious little princess Polly for being so clever when it comes to taking on the potty and its challenges. She decides that she is ready to be more grown up, like her Mummy and Daddy and big brother. I read this book to my toddler with an English accent, so saying "nappies", which is what Princess Polly and her family calls diapers, sound just right! I explain to my toddler, "That's another word for diaper in their country." Princess Polly gets her new grown up princess pants, a new princess potty and even a lesson in proper princess potty rules by Mummy! This book is totally adorable, and it teaches independence, self care and making decisions... and even dealing with accidents with Mummy and Daddy's continuous support. Very good book. Seems long at first, but my 18mo old loves this book! *Doesn't come with British reader :-(
