Really nice charcoal pencils. They come with a handy sharpener which I’ve found sharpens the pencils very well. I love the handy tin the pencils come in. Makes they very easy to throw in a bag and take with you for drawing out and about.

First things first. These are amazing for drawing with, i love them and will buy them again. Absolutely fantastic tondraw with My issue is they come with a sharpener thats useless. The charcoal pencils are ok to sharpen to begin with but once you get into the pencil a bit, its not sharpening, its breaking off in the sharpener. So i will buy a better sharpener to see if this is a sharpening problem or a pencil fault but its an awful waste of pencil when the charocal keeps breaking and getting stuck

I've used Derwent pastels and charcoal before and they have always been of an exceptional quality and are most certainly my favourite brand to get for a high quality final piece. The charcoal being in pencil form definitely helps for a more comfortable and less messy feel and obviously much harder to accidentally break in your hand! I haven't ever bought sketching materials online before and I was concerned that during transport the charcoal inside would break how wrong I was - the pencils themselves were in a tin which was placed in its packaging which was wrapped in corrugated card which was then covered in a mass of bubble wrap and was final wrapped in its brown paper and cello tape!!!! I think even if it dropped of the back of a lorry and run over by the car behind, they'd still be intact!!

These are some great quality charcoal pencils which provide: 1 light, 2 medium and 2 dark along with a white pencil too. I used these as part of my A level fine art course and they lasted a long time and were very easy to blend too, the case they're provided with is very sturdy and protect the pencils a lot and a sharpener is provided too which works ok for the most part

This product can be a little bit on the expensive side but it's really useful for art students or just anyone who wants to use charcoal in their art works. There's also a white charcoal pencil which is useful when you want to creat highlights etc. The set is worth spending the money and I recommend buying this! (Also comes with a sharpener)

Nice pencils but find them difficult to sharpen

Very clean and easy to use. Good coverage and a slight variety in the intensity of the charcoal.
