When I was little, there was a healthfoid shop that used to sell amaranth pops, where they had popped the amaranth and gathered and stuck tye popped Amaranth to a lolly Stick with honey toffee, kind of like rice crispy marshmallow, but crunchier. I was talking about this to my son and so we bought this and had a go. The trick is to preheat the dry pan to a medium high temperature and then in with the amaranth, no lid needed if the pot is deep enough, separately make the honey toffee by heating the honey to a soft crack , a little butter is added just before the amaranth is put in, and then quickly scoop onto lolly sticks and leave in a stand or on oiled greaseproof to set, yummy!

My husband and I are trying to eat more alkaline. I used this in porridge this morning. You cook for 20 mins. I added hemp milk and date sugar and this was delicious. I do not like quinoa and at first I thought this was going to taste bad but itbis so delicious. Looking fwd to breakfast tomorrow. I also did savory pancakes by grinding this grain my coffee grinder.

The only reason i purchase from this seller. Is that i plan to temporarily til i find a better deal. Its crazy money really. For those on a gluten free diet who want to be truly gluten free may understand. Gluten free sections in supermarkets are not really free from it, and dont give the necessary calories needed to be a fair alternative that actually works. Gluten free grains should be cheaper,much cheaper. 500g is enough to last me just a day, sometimes just over. The product itself is very nutritious, has good protein,fat and carbohydrates. Is a very important food in my diet. Or other G.F grains.

I wanted to try this as it is listed as being a 'healthy eating' food. Having never heard of it before I decided to give it a try. It has a distinct earthy taste and is similar in texture to quinoa, but smaller. It will taste better if I add chilli sauce, I think.
