Blooming marvellous!
What you get is a bit of rhizome with root and possibly one or two small pads sent with the name of the one the company has sent you in a wet plastic bag , I've had one of mine for a few months now, planted in a basket diagonally with the roots buried and crown exposed and I got small pads come up at first followed by larger ones and now two flower buds which have yet to open, I'm not sure if it's a bit late for it to bloom now but it's looking very healthy, I'm so pleased with my purchase that I got another one. I read that water lilies are very heavy feeders so I also bought spikes that slowly release fertiliser for a year so fingers crossed if I don't see it flower this year it will next year and I'll update with a photo if it does.Update:As promised I've just been out in the garden to the pond and here is a few photos of 2 buds that have come up this year June 2018 and flowered today, wonderful, Well worth the wait!Update 2: 7/7/18 The 2nd water lilly has opened a delicate white flower, shame my green water ruins the photos a little but that is an ongoing problem I have with my pond I have tried to remedy in numerous ways, I'd recommend this seller because I've had success with both water lillies I purchased last year.

However it looks like now I 're pottted it I've saved maybe one ...
I planted this the wrong way apparently you have to plant it sideways at an angle with just the stems hanging out I also broke several of them as they are very fragile. However it looks like now I 're potted correctly I've saved maybe one stem which hopefully has taken.i don't know about depth and that but I'm hoping it is going to grow I'll post an up date. Instuctions didn't say about having to put it side ways luckly I looked on you give .he careful handling it.the root was a good size but stems were yellow when arrived.

Surviving well.
Advertised as Pot Luck, I guess that means the colour and not the quality!Mine is thriving, this is the first year and it's settled in well although not sure what 'luck' I've had with colour as I don't expect to see any flower this year (review written late September 2017).Hopefully will survive winter and looking forward to next year. Will update my review accordingly,Update 2 years on and thriving. 2nd year a single flower and this year looks like another flower head. My pond is not large but this lilly is growing well.

mouldy root...didnt grow
Planted same as I always have, followed online instructions too. No growth this year, looks to have gone mouldy. Very disappointed to say the least!! Am in the process of trying for a refund or replacement.. I'd add that I've had ponds and plants for yrs, with no problem. My pond is throwing too. Just plants from here seem to fail or die.

Disappointed
Ordered as a bit of fun for our kids wildlife garden so we’ll see if our small dark corner pond can support the colossal White water lily that needs full sun and a deep pond. Fun idea in practice but disappointed with what was received - not very interesting.

Delighted with this
Delighted with this, the plant was in good condition with a detailed laminated picture of instructions for pond plants, with three leaves of about 1-2 inches length.Has been planted for three weeks at approx 1ft depth and one leaf has just reached the surface. Looking forward to seeing the colour. (Needs to be planted up with aqua soil gravel and aqua basket etc)After three weeks one of three original leaves has reached the surface of the pond and the second two inches behind. The third stem died but a forth is shooting through! when all have reached the surface I will lower the plant a little as recommended. Very pleased with this item for the price (bearing in mind that an aqua basket, soil and gravel are also required)
