After a time bits come off.Perfect for indoor football with little kids but outside its soaks up rain water.. **Q: is it plastic or foam** A: Its sponge foam material. Holds it shape well. All the kids at school have them and they're all the same size. I used to buy them from Wilkinsons shop but hard to find them now. My daughter just bought one yesterday for £6 from the Entertainer and they were same size but had a variety of colours.
