Great start to your first train set
Great way to start model railway. You can build a simple base board, then glue this on and then start adding track. Gets you going, extending and gives a great track layout.

Definitely on the right tracks!!!
Comes folded so there are lines on the mat. I did expect this from other reviews. I laid this with an adhesive spray and thin double sided tape on wooden boards. Size 6 x 4 feet. When flattening and smoothing out be careful not to rip the paper. Really pleased with final product.

fairly typical low end Hornby product; feels quite cheap and flimsy but it's a necessary evil if you want a track layout (for your child?) and don't want to go the whole creative process.

oh how I wish .....
I wish I had had the sense to read the reviews before placing the order. £11+ for a sheet of paper with a picture of train tracks on it - what a rip off. I know its not Amazons fault that this item is considerably overpriced for what it is. I thought I would be getting a vinyl or material mat to lay tracks on not paper. Hornby trains cost a considerable sum compared to other train sets so you would think they would produce a mat of equally good quality. Lesson learned read the reviews before placing an order in future.
