Step on it
Brought this mainly because I love the technology behind the running, and that going on a cruise the GPS won't work in the ships Gym, yet to calibrate this to work inside, but together with the GPS, and Garmin Connect, it provides invaluabe statistics on how you are performing, even if only a small change each time. Its so small you don't even know its there, and with no power controls its simple to use, just connects every time you turn on the Garmin Forerunner.Would agree that its a bit on the pricey side, hopefully you get what you pay for......

Perfect partner for the FR70 Watch
I bought this as an addition to the FR70 watch to give me distance and cadence information when running - both indoors and out. Whilst its expensive for what it is, it works flawlessly with the watch and is especially useful to gain accurate data on treadmill runs. Its quite incredible to see how different treadmill readouts compare to the footpod and justification in buying one for consistency alone. When used with the FR70, it allows upload of the extra data to Garmin Connect that allows you to see how you performed and most importantly see your speed versus heart rate.I've also got a Wahoo Ant+ adapter for my iPhone which can gather data from this footpod and allow it to be used with many running apps. This is an excellent combination to have.

First time using a foot pod for indoor running. Pairs easily with my Fenix 3 and tracks and records my speed and cadence pretty well. On some treadmills I did find that the readings from the pod said I was running faster than the treadmill said I was but then even if a treadmill is set to a specific speed your legs are not necessarily moving to that exact feed (depending on stride length etc). It could also be that the treadmill was not exact, I don't know which one it is but nonetheless it's still better to have it so you can track your indoor runs properly rather than having to manually up load the data afterwards.

Great training aid...
I bought this in addition to my Garmin Forerunner 410 GPS Sportswatch. The price may put a lot of people off buying this product but it really is a fantastic piece of kit. It fits perfectly in to my Nike + running shoes and connects instantly with my Sportswatch with out any problems. I train regularly and the information from my Footpod combined with the data from my Forerunner really does keep you motivated. The Footpod does require calibration but this is incredibly simple. You have several options for doing this, either walk or run around the inside lane of an 800m track... this may not be an option for some people. The second option is to just walk or run until the Sportswatch tells you to stop. Both are really accurate and simple to do. The main feature from the Footpod is the run cadence when you are outside and have a GPS signal. On days when you really don't want to hit the road and the treadmill seems like a better option the Footpod will track all of your data as you won't have the GPS signal needed to calculate distance, brilliant for keeping track of those indoor miles. This is a great addition to the Garmin Forerunner watches and fully recommended for anyone who is serious about running or just getting in to it.

Great for improving your run dynamics
Being able monitor your cadence can be a useful tool in improving your running style and efficiency so with this in mind I got this to pair to my 310XTThe pairing process was extremely simpleSelect Main Menu, Settings, Run Settings, Foot Pod, Turn Foot pod sensor present? to Yes, hit Enter to Restart ScanYou may have to shake or move the footpod for it to activate however I didn't and mine was detected instantly.Seeing where your cadence peaks or troughs in your run can tell you a lot about where you're expending the most effort and how your style copes with hill ascents and descents enabling you to make changes to your running mechanicsAnother benefit of the footpod is that it allows more accurate indoor, treadmill, running. However I haven't used it for that as treadmill running bores me rigid.Attaching the footpod is straight forward. Unlike the Nike+ sensor the footpod comes with a plastic attachment that simply slots under your laces and then the footpod clips right in.It is very sturdy and secure in fact so much so it is troublesome transferring the footpod between my trainers so I'm now on the verge of getting a pouch for both sets of shoes to allow me to change more easily. On the subject of pouches the footpod is the same size as the nike+ pod making the choice of pouches wider.

Good product and value, but not quite hitting what I wanted it for
Quick to hook up to my Garmin 920xt. Its a good product, build and easy to connect to my Garmin watch. However ordered to use with Zwift Run, but unfortunately with mobile phone not being ANT+ not able to use with Zwift Run on mobile. Any ideas welcome.....

Handy accessory for the Garmin Forerunner
I purchased one for my Forerunner 410 so that I could continue to use the watch in the gym to track running on treadmills. The device is easy to pair and calibrate with the Forerunner (it does pair with most Forerunner watches, but not the 110 and 205, for example) and clips snugly and securely in the laces of my ASICs.As well as returning a speed indication when running indoors the device also adds extra cadence information when tracking runs outdoors on GPS. This cadence information is available to view on my watch as I can customise the data pages, and is shown in the history as "rpm". Note that the cadence is for one leg only, so you have to double it to get an idea of steps per minute. It is worth noting that if you move the device onto another pair of trainers you should really recalibrate the device for accuracy, and the device does not give accurate cadence information for cyclists. This is not a problem for me as I have a dedicated pair of running shoes. The only slight snag (and this is not Garmin's fault) is that if you import your running data into Runkeeper (as I do) you do not get any of the cadence information. I've ended up importing into both Runkeeper to share with other running buddies and Garmin Connect to see the extra info. Maybe Runkeeper will include this extra information at some point.

Bien

Garmin Foot Pod arrived on time, in a Garmin Foot Pod package, & works perfectly. It synced with Garmin 610 smoothly & worked without calibration (,.. but the 610 manual helped to improved its cadence accuracy.:-)).I would recommend the Urban Inspirations company through Amazon as I received exactly what I ordered. Urban Inspirations kept me in the communication loop for package processing and delivery date. Great product at great price. Thanks !
