I’ve bought this heater twice now, and at this point it’s easily my go-to for every aquarium I run. I actually have one in all of my tanks, and it’s been super reliable across the board. The digital LED controller is a huge upgrade compared to the older dial-style heaters—it makes setting and checking the temperature really simple and accurate. I also really like the automatic shut-off feature when it leaves the water. That gives me peace of mind, especially during water changes, because I don’t have to worry about it overheating or getting damaged. Heating performance has been solid too. It brings the tank up to temperature quickly and keeps it stable without constant fluctuations, which is exactly what you want for keeping fish healthy and stress-free. Build quality feels great, and installation was straightforward every time. No issues, no surprises—just works. Overall, this is one of those products I keep coming back to because it does exactly what it’s supposed to do, and does it well. Definitely recommend if you want a dependable heater for your aquarium.

I wanted to wait to leave a review. After 7 months it’s still going strong with my saltwater reef tank. Using it in my sump to keep my 90 gallon warm. Even during the dead of winter on the east coast when my teen left my door from the outside into my fish room open dropping the room temp to 40° this kept my tank at 76° (set point was 78°) and everything survived. Highly recommend and will be looking into another one for the 125 I’m currently building.

It's supper easy to use. Very plug and play. I had read the reviews and seen a lot saying it was off 2 or 3 degrees but could test water and then set it accordingly. When I showed up I used 3 different digital thermometers and one manual mercury. All the digital had the same reading as the heater. And the manual was one degrees lower or less. Hard to tell if was .5 or 1.0. I ran a hot fire last and my tank was getting to hot as they are in the same room and I could see it's temperature going up..... it got to 82 before I had to start cooling the tank. When it drops down under the set temp it kicks on to 500ish wats and heats the tank rather quickly to 79. Cons.... I tried to set it horizontal and it started to alarm out almost instantly. The temperature read 98° almost instantly. I wanted to hide this behind rocks in the main tank instead of the sump. Stuck to the back wall sideways it would misread and alarm. Bummer as it would need to be sideways in my sump if I put it there also. Not enough to doc a star but disappointed. Also control cable is a little short. Not bad but it would be a little convenient if had another 12" In the end I believe most of the bad reviews of melting are user created. Like left on or removed from water before it had cooled.

By far the worst aquarium heater I have ever used. I bought it because I like brand and it had so many positive reviews. However I have gone thru 3 of these in less than 2 years. The customer service is non-responsive. The issue with this heater is that it will malfunction and claim that it is over heating which causes it to beep. Well the beeping does not stop. Even unplugging it for a long period of time and then plugging it in. I checked the temp of the heater submerged, and the water temp itself and it is no where near the temp the displays states. Going thru 3 of these for this price point is just ridiculous. I had high hopes for it but the only thing this delivered was a constant beeping. I DO NOT recommend buying this. Even with the warranty it is not worth it as they don't respond when you submit it.

Had this in my 75g with 30 sump for almost a year now. No issues at all. Will be buying another if I ever need one.

This is great. I love how easy it is to use. It's also extremely accurate. I will be buying one for each of my tanks.

Easy setup, accurate temperatures and easy temperature monitoring

Heater worked very well in my 55 gallon tank for 9 months. Then it started beeping and stopped heating--but the current temperature still showed correctly. Luckily, I noticed the beeping and had a backup heater handy. I tried three troubleshooting to let it cool and rinse it out, but it still didn't work. Hygger customer support was great. They sent me a new heater and it has been working well for a month now. I have several Hygger lights, pumps and heaters that have not had any other issues. If you're on the fence, definitely choose Hygger. Your fish and wallet will thank you. Their user manuals are generally not very clear, but AI can give you better instructions.

I purchased the Hygger Aquarium Heater (500W model) with high expectations, but it completely failed after just 5 months of normal use. This is supposed to be a premium product, yet the quality is extremely poor. Even worse, I contacted the manufacturer multiple times via email, and received no reply at all. The heater is now useless, and my trust in this brand is gone. I strongly do NOT recommend buying this product. Save your money and avoid the frustration – there are more reliable brands out there that actually stand behind their products.

Ein super Heizgerät – ich benutze es in meinem 600-Liter-Meerwasseraquarium und die Temperatur bleibt absolut stabil.

Heizt sehr gut und hält die Temperatur gut auf dem eingestellten Wert, einfach ein zu stellen 👍
