## Description

Fascinating & easy from seed Native to the Americas, these unusual spikey plants add continual year round charm and interest to your home. 'Flowers of the Desert' is a blend of varieties providing different shapes and sizes. Height: 30cm/12in Plant Class: Indoor Perennial (IP). CAUTION: Plants will produce spines. Sow indoors at any time. A warm kitchen windowsill is all you need for starting these seeds. Sow, 0.5cm (¼”) deep, in trays of sandy compost. Water well and place in a warm position. A temperature of 20-25°C (68-77°F) is ideal. Keep moist. Germination may be slow and erratic, from two weeks to two months. Transplant seedlings individually to 5cm (2") pots of well-drained compost, when large enough to handle, or, if preferred, to mixed bowls for more impact. Grow on in cooler, but not cold conditions. When mature, allow plants to dry out before watering. Do not water at all between October and March.

Review: UPDATE: First packet now has 16 plants after 42 days, second packet now has 24 plants after 20 days. All look healthy - Very good results from these seeds, out of my first packet 15 seeds germinated after the first week. I ordered another packet and had the same 50% success rate with maybe more to come. After 4 weeks they are about 1cm high now.
Review: no variety. - all seedlings seem to be the same.

Very good results from these seeds, out of my first packet 15 seeds germinated after the first week. I ordered another packet and had the same 50% success rate with maybe more to come. After 4 weeks they are about 1cm high now.

I've edited this review. Initially I was disappointed because nothing germinated. After 2-3 months I decided I would bite the bullet and give them a light water rather than the occasional mist. That seemed to do the trick and after another couple of weeks I've now got about 5 tiny seedlings coming up.
