HP toner cartridges
Learned my lesson to use ONLY HP replacement toner for our HP copiers! Bought one recycled/remanufactured cartridge. It ruined the machine.

Produces such a low output as to be economically unreasonable. I went through the original black cartridge that came with the machine in 3463 pages (that one was supposed to last 10,500). I replaced it with a high capacity cartridge and so far I've printed 3921 pages printed and the printer shows 800 remaining. That means for a toner cartridge that I expected to get 20,500 pages, I will only get 4721 - that's over a 4x increase in cost.I just saw that this cartridge is listed for $221.92 (instead of $279.99) - so at that price I expected a page cost of $0.0108 per page and instead (using 4721 pages), the cost is $0.047 per page, or 4.34 times higher than expected.20% or 30% less per cartridge I could understand, however, getting a factor of 3 or 4 less than expected changes costs so much that this printer becomes economically unreasonable very quickly. This raises the cost of printing on a per page basis very quickly. Instead of costing roughly $0.01 per page as stated above, we are now over $0.04 per page, and that is the black ink ONLY. When you add in the color ink (which is more expensive), the cost skyrockets and becomes uneconomical very quickly.
