Thermaltronics TMT-TC-2 Lead Free Tip Tinner, While this is only 20g you don't necessary use much so should last a good time. This was used as i ran out of some but i had a solder tip that over time just went black through oxidation so wouldn't heat up the solder. A small use of this cleaned things up and i was able to re solder again. Just remember that if you are going to use it, its not an everyday cleaner, its only used to clean up an oxidized tip, once finished with the iron, before turning off stick some solder on the end of the tip. Overall im happy with the product cleaned the tip quickly and effortlessly so i was able to remain using the same tip. Good value for what you get and it does the job its intended for.

My soldering iron tip was not working as well, though maybe it was dead but after a quick dip into this, the burt junjk came right off. Looks almost as good as new and now solders fine. Should have got this years ago

It was used on an old tip and cleaned it very nicely. Polished it and made it very shiny. I still suck at soldering but at least its a shiny tip lol

Novice solderer here. I got this to re-tin my soldering iron(s) tips. The first photo is of a temperature-controlled soldering station which I haven't been using for long. The second is my main iron and first love, which was badly oxided. I tried re-tinning for 30 mins and this was the best I got. The substance/product is great but the tip was too oxided(never been tinned or taken care of properly). Anyway, as you can see from the second photo, the tip is partially tinned but it conducts heat properly now and solder flows well. Learning from the first re-tinning, I immersed the other in vinegar and after about 2 hours, the oxides were "corroded" away. Thinning in the product was a breeze. The adhesion was a lot better with a cleaner and less oxided tip. This would help me take better care of my soldering tips. The amount/size in the tin is adequate for several jobs. Well worth the money paid. I would recommend it to every novice and experts.

45 years soldering, why I haven't I used this sooner! - I've soldered lots of things from TV, video, power supplies, cables for decades and while I'm an excellent solderer (I'm modest but it's true!) - I thought I'd try this with my new Antex solder station, and was surprised that it does keep tips clean and takes solder nicely. A quick dab of the iron into the brass ball cleaner (sold seperately!) and then dip into this tin and get a little heated up and you've then got a great working tip. While I can absolutely solder perfectly without this, I'll use it from now on to see if it keeps my soldering bit tips in better condition.

This works great for maintaining the top of my Hakko soldering iron, which I use multiple times per week for stained glass at around 360/410 degrees using blowpipe solder and liquid flux. I tin the tip probably four or five times a ‘session’ and before I switch the iron off. Lasts for ages even though it’s only a small tin. Only isdue I’ve had is as it’s a tin with a sort of press fit seal, if the tin starts to corrode/rust it jams and us an absolute nightmare to prize open again! Great value though - almost half the price of the stained glass specialist suppliers I use for the rest of my kit online.

Brought a tip back to life before my very eyes. It took quite a long time, this tip really was in need of some love. But it worked! And I've been buying new tips whenever they stopped sticking to the solder. Now I know I can use this to freshen them up occasionally and even bring one back to life if needed.

Cumple su función correctamente, que es mantener la punta del cautin o soldador funcional. Si no tienes una pasta como esta para limpiar la punta del soldador, la punta se pone negra y ya no se adhiere el estaño, ni calienta correctamente, lo que hace imposible la soldadura. This is my second time purchasing this tip tinner. I originally bought it at full price and was immediately impressed with how well it performs. It’s very easy to use and noticeably improves solder flow while helping extend the life of my soldering iron tips. Since it works so well and went on sale, I couldn’t resist stocking up. My only complaint is that I wish it came in a larger container.
