It’s entirely up to you, it’s down to taste. Start with 25g that’s what I did. Just experiment and see what you are happy with.

i want to make my 40pt kit taste bitter. would these do it and how many do i add to the brew?

Hops are added during the boiling stage of beer making which has already been done for a kit. I would try putting 30gms in a pan with 500ml of water and boil for 30min then add that as you make the kit up to 40 pints. Hop it works.
