Polti Vaporetto Go Steam Cleaner, 3.5 Bar, 0.75 L Tank, 14 Accessories

This review is for the Polti Go version of this cleaner, there is another version called the Handy, that seems pretty much identical in terms of power, variable steam pressure, attachments, reservoir size (750 ml) etc.The only difference, as far as I can tell, is that the Handy comes with some kind of fragrance dispenser in the handle, as far as I understand it, never having used this model.The Go model does not have that. (There are also several other similar models. Check the Polti website to see which model would suit your needs.)I have had mine for a couple of weeks now and so far it has performed very well.I have cleaned carpets, rugs, a cooker, washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge, roller blinds, (in situ) tiles, taps, bath, sinks, vinyl kitchen floor and freshened curtains, plus kitchen utensil containers a stainless steel bread bin kitchen cupboards, doors and paintwork artificial flowers, trainers and defrosted a freezer.It is astonishing how many things this device can clean. It also gets into nooks and crannies, that usual cleaning methods don't get to. Don't be surprised to see gunk coming out of places you thought were already as clean as you could get them using cloths and sprays, especially, cooker knobs and the like.Really bad stains, such as those embedded in a carpet or rug, can sometimes be blasted loose, by holding a cloth at one side of the stain, and by holding the concentrator attachmentat an angle to the stain and blast down into and across the stain towards the cloth, you can blast the stain loose from the carpet and on to the cloth.This technique, takes a little while, to get the knack of but it works very well. Don't blast directly down into the stain but blast into and across it. Again take care, if you are holding the cloth with your other hand, as you will be blasting hot material towards it.. Use a thick cloth.It takes a while to get the hang of it, how much steam to use, how long to leave it on there etc.Most of the time, it is common sense.On delicate materials, such as curtains, turn down the steam dial and use less, plus move over the surface quickly. I actually steamed a dry clean only, pair of lined, lounge curtains, using this method and they came up beautifully and to no harm.DO BE CAREFUL, when first starting the machine, after first heating the water or after having let it stand for a while, as some water will come from the endof the pipe or attachments, when you first press the trigger, before the steam comes through, in a steady stream, so you can aim it at the cloth, to collect this extra water, if you are working on something, you don't want to get over wet.On thick carpets, or tiles, I just used this extra moisture, to help loosen, stubborn grime or stains, before steaming properly, so it was not a problem in those areas, it was a help...On delicate artificial flowers in a vase, I found, that once the steam was up and running clear, a quick half second blast, sweeping quickly across them, cleaned all the dust from all the intricate folds of the petals, obviously leaving it on these for an extended period would damage them.The same with cleaning down doors or cupboards, a quite blast and wipe down with the cloth removes all the grime.The other handy thing, is that you have fresh, clean, hot water, with you all the time, so if you need to, you can spray hot water on the cloth and use it to wipe down. Again BE CAREFUL, if you do this, as the steam is very hot, so it will burn your hand if you are not careful, it will make the cloth very hot too, so exercise care...Another tip, the smaller window cleaning head, comes with what they call a sponge or sock. This is just an elasticated, terry cloth pouch, which turns the window cleaning head into a cleaning pad, very useful for cupboard doors, curtains, clothes, upholstery etc.This can be a little fiddly to fit and remove it gets dirty. You can get spares but I found, that if you get a standard, microfibre cleaning cloth, such as can be found very cheaply, almost anywhere, you can wrap this round the window cleaning head, secure it, by twisting an elastic band around the neck twice, this works just as well and it very quick to remove and attach.When cleaning windows, especially in the cold weather, make sure there is no water in the pipe, as this could cause the windows to crack, don't spray the hot steam at, directly on the window, spray the steam into something near the window, such as a sink and let the steam rise on to the window. If need be, spray across the room a distance away from the window and let the windows steam up or spray from a good distance away from the windows 3 ft or so, to let the windows steam up uniformly and naturally.I usually find, that cleaning something else, automatically causes the windows to steam up, so they get cleaned incidentally, by a quick switch to the window cleaning tool, when I notice it has happened.It has several attachments, which cover nearly every cleaning task. It has 8 twist on attachments that connect to the multi adapter, which also serves as a short lance and steam concentrator, for various medium to tough jobs and gives you a little more reach, than the steam gun on its own. Also includes a spatula, grout cleaning brush, wire bristle brush for really tough jobs and an an angled, even finer steam concentrator blaster, for round the base of taps and fiddly jobs like that.You will be amazed what junk falls out of your tap water outlets, if you give them a blast, with this tool, also deblocks your shower head and restores full water flow, almost instantaneously.It has a carry strap, which allows you to carry it around leaving both your hands free if you wish.The tube extenders are click in, press to release and come in three sections.This can make it feel a little over flexible and make you wonder if it's liable to break, especially when you sweep the floor/carpet brush, from side to side. I discovered, the trick is, to let the steam and stiff brush bristles, do the work. DON'T press into the floor/carpet/rug too hard.Alternatively sweep from one direction, then change position, and sweep at right angles across the area, just covered.You can also, one, two, or all three of the tube extenders individually or in combination with each other, to reach particular areas, to which they are best suited.I cleaned my rug by first running the uncovered stiff brush over it first, while releasing steam, to loosen the dirt, then ran over it again after attaching the cleaning cloth. Did a great job, the stiff brush, dug out and gathered up, all sort of debris, that must have been hiding in the carpet pile for years.The cloth attaches by plastic teeth, on a separate springed lever, on either side of the head. The supplied one, does tend to hang a bit loose but once it is on the floor or carpet, the bristles keep it in place and this doesn't seem to affect, it cleaning ability. Again DON'T press too hard, let the steam do the work.If you constantly pour out steam at the top pressure, you will get around 20 minutes - half an hour of cleaning. If you use it, as it probably more usual, intermittently steaming and wiping/sweeping in between, you will get 50 minutes - 1 hour of cleaning. You tend to clean more than you expected, in a shorter time than you expected, because you can clean so many things with it, just by changing a nozzle and it also cleans many things, much faster, than other methods do.For example. I cleaned the fridge, when I finished, I had loads of steam left, so I cleaned the kitchen floor as well.. The windows steamed up so, I did them as wellAll the connectors, are kept in the base underneath the cleaner, so are with you all the time and you don't have to hunt round for them. The base releases with a tab lever press and clicks back in by inserting the narrow end first and lowering the back into the cavity. Very easy, when you get the hang of it.My advice, would be to watch a couple of you tube videos on this machine, read the manual properly and put in a little practise with it, you will be very pleased with the results it achieves, I think.So far I am delighted with this device and though it took a few goes to get the hang of so far, it is working, extremely well..It does take a while to cool down, before you can refill it but you have usually done so much cleaning by then, you generally want to have sit down, survey your handywork and have a cup of tea while you wait. It doesn't take that long. It has a safety device, that won't allow the filler cap too open, while it is under pressure.To assist in refilling quickly, if you need to. When the steam has stopped working, wait a few seconds and then press the steam trigger, ensuring that there is no more steam being released by the machine and that there is no pressure left in the tank. Then give it a few minutes to cool down, check that the indicator button on the cap, is signifying that the cap can be opened (it should be in the fully down position) and open the filler cap with a cloth, just to be safe, as any air and possible remnants of steam in the tank will be hot. Then refill with the funnel and jug as normal. DON'T leave the funnel resting, inserted in the opening of the hot tank, as this may damage it.That's about it for this review. I can't speak for the reliability or longevity of this machine, as I haven't had it long enough but hopefully, this might have helped someone out there, to decide, whether they want to give one a try or not. I found it to be excellent so far.Quick added tip..I discovered after a few weeks use.. When jet blasting a stubborn, ground in carpet stain, using the lance or steam concentration nozzle, held at a steep angle. You can put a cloth on one of the cleaning heads, even using a section of extension tube, to aid in holding it in position if required and place it at the opposite side of the stain from where you are jet blasting, this keeps your hand safe from accidental harming with hot steam.. In the videos on YouTube, the demonstrator of this technique, is holding the cloth in their hand. This method is much safer and you can hold the cloth much closer to the stain..

I had an upright steam mop which broke recently so I thought I'd try this one. It is more powerful than my last one, there seems to be a strong amount of steam coming out. I don't mind the few minute wait for the steam to build up. Initially it spurts water, so I always hold over the sink until the steam comes out.Some of the parts seem a bit weak and flimsy, so I'm worried about how long it will last. The 3 extension hoses can all fit together so you can steam mop a bit like a hoover, however I feel that if you put a small amount of pressure on them they bend quite a bit, so need to be very careful not to break! It isn't as neat as my old upright when going in the cupboard, and it definately leaves my floors quite wet after I've steamed them. I like the floorbrush for going over the carpets as it seems to bring up a lot of dirt, so I usually need to hoover the carpets again after, but at least I know its working. I was impressed with the steam gun and the pressure of steam coming out, it was amazing how much dirt was being blasted from the skirting boards etc! I haven't gotten a chance to use all the accessories (two small children means I usually only get time for the basics!) but the steam pressure is enough to feel like the house is getting a good clean so I'm sure all the accessories will be fine.I have used the shoulder strap but it feels a bit bulky to carry about. Oh, and the handle/lever, which you need to hold in, gets sore on your hands very quickly so i have to wrap a towel round it. Also you only get one floor cloth with it, so if you steam regularly you may need to buy another one, I used a microfibre cloth as an alternative this morning which worked fine, you can clip it in easy enough as long as it is long enough.Overall, I am reasonably satisfied with the Polti. Its saving grace is how strong the steam comes out so it cleans the place well which is what I bought it for. I just wish it was less persnickety, and sturdier. If it came in the form of an upright maybe...

Once you get use to it it’s fantastic. Very powerful on full steam and light to use. Attachments kept in one place which is fabulous. I’ve cleaned everywhere with it. Even my faux house plants, skirting boards, bbq, bathroom floor. It’s very easy to store. I wrap the cord around the base and that’s it. I keep the extension poles in a drawer under the stairs. The trigger gun is a time saver too. It allows you to steam for longer so it’s not wasted while you dry areas away from dirt such as radiators and door frames. You can safely change the nozzles as the trigger has a button to stop it being accidentally pulled while doing so. I’ve also steamed my window frame grooves where the dirt gathers when open, mesh insect door curtain and mesh window nets. Cleaned the oven too and walls. My house feels so much cleaner now and I have two cats, two adults and a toddler living with me. My old steamer was a Morphy Richard’s which didn’t cut the steam, it just carried on without any control. This little Polti ticks all the boxes for power, attachments in one place, cleaning, ease of use and storage. Tip: I don’t fill the full 750ml, just 600 as when I first did it it seemed to be over full unless I hadn’t screwed the valve on properly. I also bought extra socks but would probably use micro fibre cloths cut smaller to put on with a hair bobble as the extra socks aren’t thick. Highly recommend though for performance and price.

Love this, I read some of the negative reviews before buying but it has proved to be a great purchase so far. The water needs to heat up before you can start steam cleaning. It did splutter water at first but just point the nozzle into the air for a quick blast of steam and then you are ready to get steam cleaning. It’s great. So far I have steamed the mattress and my sofas which had got a bit dusty. I think it is great value for money with all the attachments and the large capacity. I

I bought this in November 2016 after deciding to ditch my old bucket and mop, and the reviews for this seemed positive. However, it has proved a complete nightmare. The pole is very flimsy, which may not bother everyone, but trying to apply pressure to get marks off floors, with the thing flexing, actually made my back ache. Upon every use, the first thing it does is let out a whole load of water, absolutely soaking the floor. This drove me mad. As with other reviews, I found it made the floors so wet, I ended up on my hands and knees drying them as I went! The attachments are vast and I can't really be bothered with them all. After using one to clean around sink taps, it looked ready for the bin. If it runs out of steam during use, it takes ages to come up to temperature again and you rather lose your momentum! The floor-cleaning pads supplied are fiddly to fit and don't stay on properly. It was interesting to note that they obviously get filthy very quickly, and you are then trying to clean your floors with a dirty implement. Hmm! So, I have now bought a nice kneeling pad, a sturdy bucket and a couple of E-Cloths, and do you know, I'm as happy as Larry! I add a few drops of tea tree oil to some hot water and a little washing up liquid and off I go! I don't have to wait for the thing to heat up, my floors are thoroughly cleaned (and so are the skirting boards and anything else I see whilst I'm down there!), and they're dry within minutes. I paid £67 on Amazon for my Polti Vaporetto. The kneeling pad and E-Cloths cost a fraction of that, and I get the job done more quickly. Sometimes the old ways are actually just better. Vaporetto anyone?!

It took me a while to work out the safety feature that stops you from refilling after the steam runs out (an important safety feature). Make sure you fill to recommended capacity to get the full running time. I love this, it works well on my kitchen surfaces, hard floors, rugs, and carpets. I have pets so was looking for something to give my carpets a good clean and keep fleas and pests away. The steam is very hot so be aware of that when using it, keep pets and children away when using it. You get lots of different attachments to clean carpets, brushes for cleaning surfaces and hard-to-reach areas, and a window cleaning attachment. Everything fits nicely inside the unit for storage and the hose clips to the unit, you can wrap the electrical cord around that and it stores easily. My house feels lovely and clean after using this. I can go from cleaning my kitchen to doing my carpets in one session. I am a genuine customer and have been very impressed with this. Don't waste your money on a steam mop, this will do the job and so much more. Good value for money too.

The product is well made and includes useful accesories. I used it irregularly (3-4 times a year) for deep cleaning and these occassions lasted several hours. Overall it seems a quality product and it performed well and was easy to use and met my expectations for a steam cleaner.Unfortunately it stopped working after 4 years. Now when it is plugged in to the power it trips the power circuit. I suspect the heating element has failed. I expected it would be easily repaired like a oven element or kettle element but this is not the case.For safety reasons repairing an item designed to produce high pressure steam has to be carried out by someone with the relevent experience, skills and tools to verify it "pressure" tests safely and this should exclude most home DIYers or local repair shop options.I contacted Polti UK for help and they were unable to repair it themselves, or provide details of anyone who could. Overall they did not care and expected it to be scrapped.I am not annoyed that the element failed. I would have wanted it to last longer given the lack of use but I expected it to fail at some point. I found the after-sales support from the manufacture to be inadequate for a product marketed as "premium", and it is disapointing that the device has to be scrapped for what is likley to be a £10 part.

I've only used it for a day now, but it looks like a well-built product, and it comes with lots of accessories. I've seen a video on YouTube in which the refill cap leaks steam, but mine was 100% fine in my first test. It seems like the problem has been fixed -- or perhaps the person in that video was just unlucky. However, don't expect this machine to melt grease and grime away like a blow torch would do to ice or like you see in the product's videos. You probably need a much more powerful machine for that. Tried it inside the toilet bowl (just steam, no scrubbing) and it hardly did anything. Tried it on the bath tub and it didn't do a lot either. Tried it on my filthy bicycle chainstays and it did do something, but it did a lot less than a rag and some degreaser did a few minutes later without the hassle of plugs, cables, refills, or waiting for the water to get hot. You get a few seconds -- three to five -- of a reasonably-strong steam jet, and then you have to wait 20 or 30 seconds for the machine to re-heat the water and catch up. You can't ask a lot more than that for 50 quid (that's what I paid for it in 2021). For this price, it's probably worth it, but I wouldn't pay a lot more than that. I'd rather pay double for a machine with double the power and double the capacity, but even Polti's more powerful models only come with 1,800-watt heaters (compared to 1,500 watts for the Vaporetto). I think it's an interesting gadget, but a bit on the wimpy side. I may find some use for it in the future, but I don't think I'll be using it a lot as a cleaner.

Comme sur le descriptif mais la prise est anglaise, j’ai dû acheté un adaptateur de prise française. Cela aurait été cool d’être mise au courant avant de commander. Mais à part cela, il fait son boulot et j’en suis contente.

Ich habe es leider nach Monaten erst heute ausgepackt und war sehr enttäuscht. Der Stecker ist ein ausländischer Stecker und passt nicht in normale deutsche Steckdosen. Das wurde vorher nirgends klar angegeben. Ohne Adapter ist das Gerät hier also gar nicht nutzbar. Sehr schade, denn an sich wirkt das Produkt hochwertig – aber so ist es für mich völlig unpraktisch.

This was not as described in the reviews. I was so disappointed with this product. I was hoping it was going to make life easier for me. Terrible machine, just spits water everywhere. End up having twice the work now.
