NF-F12 PWM, High-Performance Quiet Fan 120mm

I bought two of these to replace the stock fans on a Antec Kuhler H2O 920, cooling an i7 3770K, not currently overclocked (breaking in the Arctic Silver 5), but I have confidence that this cooling solution will more than handle it. The fans are more than I could have hoped for; quieter than the (very quiet) Kuhler pump at low speeds, running down to about 120 RPM, and still pretty quiet at full tilt, achieving a steady average 1500 RPM with less than the stated 10% variation. The comparison to the stock fans supplied with the Kuhler is stark, in addition to being far quieter, the sound at top speed is subjectively 'more pleasant'; a background hum rather than an aircraft throttling up for take-off! The accessories supplied with this fan are second-to-none. The short cables fitted to the fan worked perfectly with the connectors from the Kuhler, allowing tidy cable management, but the neatly sheathed extensions came in handy for tidying the cabling for the other case fans away behind the motherboard tray. The Y-connector would be very useful if you had fewer PWM headers on your motherboard than case fan mounting options, and the LNA (Low Noise Adapter) if your motherboard did not allow you to limit the top speed. The mounting options are similarly well thought out, with vibration damping mounting cones to complement the (removeable) silicone corner mounts on the fan itself, as well as conventional fan screws. If I had to find anything at all wrong with these fans the only thing I could mention would be that the silicone corner mounts made it slightly tricky to get the mounting bolts for the radiator engaged, as they add a little extra width. Once the first bolt was located and tightened a turn or so the others went in fine though, and the compression in the mounts allowed them to be tightened securely. This really is a clutch-at-straws to nit-pick however! In summary, these are excellent fans, which do the job asked of them to a very high standard, all whilst remaining extremely quiet, and leaving you with a nice little handful of spares to use elsewhere in your PC build. Well worth every penny!

Noctua NF-F12PWM Case Fan 120 mm I just love it when you get a product that has attention to detail - the packaging is old Rolls Royce quality - loads of connectors just in case you want to link fans together. When you open the box quality exudes - I love the colours of the fan and many don't - but unlike many I doubt that I will see them again until I have a problem with my PC and have to open the case up again. My intention is to use this new build and not look at how sexy it looks inside. One irritation was installing them - the fan has eight soft rubber corners fitted to it - be aware that the buggers can fall off when trying to pull the very clever soft rubber connectors through (no screws) to fit the fan. I noticed that one had fallen off and wasn't sure where it was or if the fan actually had it when I took it out of the packaging (never expected that they could fall off) finally found it and the very soft rubber was a pain to try and put into the fan (long stalks that needed to be fed through holes and soft rubber stalks that didn't want to go through the holes. A bit of hide glue could have made these corner buffers stay in place because you would never ever need to remove them. That being said they serve a great purpose - the soft rubber corners buffer any potential vibration of the fan being transmitted to the case - not that these fans have any vibration as the fan is virtually silent and vibration free. If you read this you might think that there is more text on the negatives - well my final conclusion is that Noctua are excellence par excellence - total quality and I am about to order a couple more for my new case and build. Brilliant product!

This fan is BEAUTIFUL, I have it as my CPU fan as the fan that came with my cooler moved very little air on my personal computer and I use one as the only case fan in the home/office computer (as there is not much room near the intake of the computer) This is Noctua's pressure optimized fan designed with radiators and CPU coolers in mind but you can use it in a similar scenario that I have with the office computer. It comes with screws, anti vibration gromits, 5 volt and 7 volt adapter and a 4 pin fan extension wire as the wire coming off the fan is quite short. This is one of my favorite fans out there, it is robust, silent in normal use, shifts a nice bit of air and has a 7 year warranty. the colour scheme leave a bit to be desired however I've grown to like it, before it annoyed me but now it feels prestigious. Despite what some people have said online you should not remove the fan blades and you cannot paint the fan as it will ruin the motor in the fan and it will not preform as good nor for as long. Unlike some other fan you cannot peal off the sticker to add oil to the fan (not that you need to I just never saw that commented anywhere else) If you choose this fan for environments where a high static pressure is required, you will not choose wrong with this fan.

I did a lot of research before finally deciding on Noctua fans for my new PC build and I am glad I chose them. My case has one of these on a Corsair H80 feeding air in and a NF-S12B as an outlet fan (for the higher air flow). Combined with two NF-P12 PWM as input into the case. This combination has lowered my case temperature by around 12 degrees. As for the build they feel very high quality with braided cabling and a mass of accessories for low noise application (I don't use them as they make no noise anyway). Finally they are completely silent, on start up the loudest thing in my case is the hard drives spinning up and with a headset on I have to look at the PC to make sure that the lights have come on when I power up. In conclusion these fans are expensive but you get what you pay for in terms of fans Noctua produce the equivalents of bugatti veyron's. The engineering and level of complexity goes beyond anything else on the market, and I bet you will not see designs they are implementing now will not be available in the mainstream for year to come. I recently bought one of those silent fanless PCs, it is impressive in day-to-day use but thrashing the CPU (building Qt from source, video transcoding) causes thermal throttling at very high temperatures. I bought one of these posh fans to blow (or rather suck) air over the CPU, so I mounted it on the side panel of my PC case. The colour scheme certainly clashes with a black PC but I reckon I'll learn to like it, and thankfully it does not include LED lighting. The idle noise is a hissing sound. It revs up nicely on my Gigabyte Z97X-UD3H motherboard as the temperature rises to a louder, higher pitched "hiss with a hint of whining"; the PC case's mesh side window resonates now and then to add noise but touching with a finger damps it, so it's not the fan's fault as such. My stress test is Handbrake video transcoding, and I seem to have reduced temps by 10 maybe 15 degrees. One scary thing: Power on the PC, and the fan spins, then stops for a second or three, then restarts; this seems to be normal repeatable behaviour. The packaging is luxurious, the accessories are comprehensive, but a spare anti vibration mounting wotsit would allow for experiment and accidents, and the screws being longer with bigger heads would accommodate mounting holes that have grommets.

These fans are quiet & long lasting IMHO the best case/PCU fans there are assuming they fit, measure first!

These fans seem to be built with good quality material, because there doesn't seem to be any bending noise as I'm handling them when fitting inside the computer case I bought two of these NF-F12PWM PC chassis fans. They're not as silent as the rumours. They are definitely quieter than the Dell Vostro 200 I used to own a coupla years ago ohh definitely much more quieter The only difference I noticed when compared to the old fans (the ones that came with the Corsair C70 case) is that when I switch on the computer, these fans ramp up in speed and make more noise than the previous ones (nothing's wrong with that actually), and then they become quiet again. I'm just surprised the old fans never done the same, because the computer does actually need that extra cooling as soon you open it. Anyways, after that 2 or 3 seconds, these Noctua fans do actually run more quieter than the old ones Conclusion: I choose to go with 120mm Noctua fans only at the moment. The beige with brown, and black with brown colour schemes, for these fans is just ugly aesthetics-wise These 120mm fans are INSIDE the case not where they are visible. When Noctua decides to build black fans WITH BLACK RUBBER PADS I, and many more will definitely buy all the fans from Noctua because they really are quality fans Until then, I'll be buying black 140mm fans from other companies since they are relatively silent (although not as much as Noctua's). And when they are visible when looking from the outside of the computer case; they aren't as ugly, or that noticeable

I bought this for my PC as the rear exhaust fan was just not cutting it. I needed a fan that could push a large amount of hot air out the rear of my computer case and this one worked great, The first thing you might notice about this fan is the price as it's noticeably more expensive than other branded fans but don't let that put you off. Noctua have a very good reputation for producing some of the best premium cooling solutions available. While the products are costly they deliver the results every time. I installed the NF-12PWM into my case and made an adjustment in the Fan controller to suite my needs. This is not always needed so you can just leave it set to automatic and it should work perfectly. Inside the box you have all types of cables included such as low speed filters and even extension cables which will make it easier to install if the fan header is far away from the fan placement. Another nice touch is they include 4 fan screws for installation which is very thoughtful, most other manufacturers do not include these so you have to buy your own. I have already noticed nearly a 10 degree drop on my systems idle CPU temperature! I recommend this over the cheaper alternatives as it exceeded my expectations.

Dead quiet even on full blast (i have 10 fans from Noctua in my setup atm), very well packaged and comes with all the hardware you'd need, even under full load my system stays very cool Highly recommend to anyone that wants a quality set of fans that are both cold and quiet

Excellent fan, the usual Noctua quality. You buy these because you want the best and the quietest. The PWM is todays standard as well.
