I purchased this to replace a much smaller shredder, which had given good service but was simply not up to the job of shredding my ever-increasing quantity of paper. The build quality is excellent and it has handled large quantities of shredding without any fuss. The cooling fans are a welcome addition and certainly do their job well. Feeding the shredder is easy and I have only experienced one small jam, which the reverse button took care of instantly. The shredder handles junk mail, too - unopened envelopes with 4 or 5 sheets of stuff folded over inside. This is certainly the best shredder I have used in the home office environment and it has now given a month's worth of sterling service. In summary, easy to use, very quiet and well built. Highly recommended.

Well, having been used to a home use only paper shredder, with what can only be described as ' the wife' whinging on and on inside it every time you try to shred even a single piece of paper, I was absolutely blown away when suddenly I was able to shred 18 pieces of paper at a time without so much as a moan or groan. It's a lot quieter than my old one ( the shredder not the wife ) and is almost bullet proof in comparison, build quality wise. If you have an 'industrial amount'of paper work to shred, then this industrial size shredder is just the bit of kit. AND it shreds CD's whatever they are 😆

It chomps through paper so easily and I don't have to count the number of sheets in one go, just grab quite a few and feed it - so far its not baulked at anything. A nice big and quite heavy robust shredder with a good flat top I put my cuppa on - so doubles as a table. No fancy flashing lights to indicate the load when its working and a real nice hum as it begins to eat with a super sized collection bin and a little window so I can see the particles drop in - a bit like watching it snow. The castors are great - the front ones have a lockable brake - so it stays where you put it, simple flick and its so manoeuvrable. Its a great toy. If it was just a bit taller I would place it against the front door in line with the post box - and let the postman feed it too - and save me time junking the rubbish I get through. Its a super shredder, only negative - the transformer when the shredder is in standby does hum quite loud

Purchased to replace a much older "Fellowes" shredder that had done a good job for at least a decade, but was wearing out, so decided to spend a bit more this time, and purchase a more heavy duty shredder and I haven't been disappointed. This one arrived the next day and was unboxed and working in moments. Its used for home office shredding, including business documentation so cross cutting was important. It says a max of 18 sheets - this is a bit pointless really, as it entirely depends on the weight of the paper. I always under load (which is why the last one lasted so long), and haven't put more than 8 sheets in at once. Its not as quick as the last one, but takes more at a time, and hasn't jammed once yet so overall much quicker. At least 4 times the price of the old one, but well worth the money

I'd previously had a smaller cross-cut shredder, which didn't cope with many sheets and had a small bin which was a paint to keep emptying - and as a consequence I had a pile of paperwork that had built up that I needed to shred. I decided to do the job properly, and to buy this shredder. Goodness, it's a world better than the last one. It copes with a good thickness of paper (the whole envelope of junkmail gets shredded without opening!), is easy to move around on its casters, and the removable storage bin is a decent size, massively improving the useability. The fact it's removable (rather than my old shredder where I had to remove the 'head', usually spreading shredded paper all over the floor) makes changing the bin quick and easy. The shredded output is small and normal text isn't readable - which is the main aim. The only possible critique is that I'd like the paper to go in downward from the top of the machine, where the slot actually requires paper to be 'posted' from the front of the machine. And it's not as speedy as I thought it would be, albeit far quicker than my other shredder given the thickness of paper this can take. In the space of 2 hours, I cleared a mountain of paperwork - highly recommended!

The Duronic Cross Cut Paper Shredder PS991, is a competitive, reasonable cost, for a security paper shredder. It is really superb quality. I’ve used this a great deal, and the only thing that I’ve had to do maintenance wise is, pro the correct type of oil in between sheets of paper I’m shredding to keep the cutter blades oiled to maintain sharpness and reduce friction on the moving parts.

First impressions are pleasing. Nothing to complain about. Functions as stated. Fan cooled to help prevent overheating. I would say that the number of sheets capacity claimed by the manufacturer would depend entirely on the weight of the paper (gsm). Seems happiest with around eight sheets maximum of 90-100 gsm paper. Paper feed is nicely controlled and the main feature for the user is the huge capacity bin. This slides out and is easy to empty. Ran the machine flat out for some time with no sign of overheating. So far so good. March 2019. I have been using this for shredding documents, Birthday and Christmas cards, thin cardboard, multiple sheets of paper and CD's. I've had it running flat out for hours, and I'm seriously impressed with this machine. Worth every penny I paid for it. Highly recommended.

My last shredder could have probably been considered a little bigger than a desk shredder. It was very noisy and prone to overheating. I had to feed the paper sheets individually which was a frustration. In contrast, this is outstanding. It takes up to 18 sheets of A4 in one go and processes these much faster and with less noise. The large bin means I can put a bin liner in there, shred away and simply pull out the drawer when done, remove the bag and dispose of it. I should have bought one of these years ago.
