A ragged, overused plastic bottle that he'd rather not use in the face of my premium hydration vessel. He'd much rather experience the pains of thirst than succumb to the shame of showing he STILL reuses a plastic water bottle. GASP. All jokes aside, this Klean Kanteen is fantastic. It's remarkably crafted and even though it won't make the above scenario a part of your every day life, you should buy one anyway. Water tastes pure and clean, and even though its a bit pricey, its a worthy investment. It looks very cool too.

For anyone else wondering about this, it is a thin O-ring around the lid to make a watertight seal. The bottle itself is pure stainless steel (even the logo is etched - it's not paint). This means it can go in the dishwasher and has the added advantage that in a survival situation you could boil water in it over a fire (without the lid of course). The only issue I have had is one time when I didn't tighten the lid enough and some water leaked out, otherwise I have been very pleased with this purchase.

Before purchase I wasn't sure where the silicone came in as the description says it is made of 3 materials - stainless steel, bamboo, and silicone. Hard to drink out of without spilling. The lid screachs when closing. No thermal properties- but it works as a water bottle and doesn't leak.
