Protexin Veterinary Pro-Kolin Enterogenic Gut Health Sachets for Cats and Dogs, Chicken Flavour, 60 Sachets

Following a bad bout of colitis at xmas our dog continued to have bouts of diarrhea with blood in despite 2 visits to the vet and taking all the medication prescribed. We then had a fecal test done which was all clear. 6 weeks down the line and £450 out of pocket we were faced with doing blood tests when I saw this advertised and decided to give it a go first. From the first sachet our dogs problem cleared up and 3 weeks later having given him a sachet a day he is back to his normal self. Vet has said to leave the blood tests for now and to continue giving this as it can be taken long term although we will reduce it to every other day in the near future. So definately worth trying this in conjunction with vet advice. Much cheaper than vet bills as well. I thought it worth coming back with an update to my original review. Our dog has been taking this now for 6 months. We have so far not had any further problems with diarrhea, blood in stools or colitis. It seems to be working very well for our dog. I have checked with two vets who have said it is fine to keep him on it long term. We are currently giving one sachet a day mixed with wet food. He either likes the taste or doesn't notice it is mixed in his food. It is quite expensive but in the 5 years we have had our dog it has cost a fortune in the vet with his problem so this needs to be taken into account.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I honestly felt I had to after using these sachets. Our little girl had been quite poorly with a very upset tummy for around two weeks. After the initial three days, I had taken her to the vets and she was prescribed a binder, but even after a fortnight she still wasn’t quite right. Our vet and vet nurse recommended these sachets to me and spoke very highly of them. My little dog is 12 years old and has no gall bladder or spleen, so we have to be particularly careful about what she has. After just 10 days of using the sachets, the difference has been remarkable.She has made such a fantastic recovery. Although she has naturally slowed down with age, over the last few days she has seemed so much brighter, happier and full of energy again. It’s honestly lovely to see her feeling like herself. Our vet has advised that these will benefit her long term, so we’ll be keeping her on them as part of her daily routine. If your dog suffers from tummy upsets, I would strongly recommend giving these a try. They have made such a difference to our little girl, and we’re so grateful we were told about them! ❤️🐾

I started to buy this after the vets couldn’t find anything to treat my dog with bad gastrointestinal problems, he was pooing so much blood and the vets just treated him with the same thing over and over again and he still was suffering badly. I started using this and the fibre pellets in his food and it was a miracle he got better and the blood stopped and it’s been 3-4 months and it hasn’t come back yet he’s still very unwell with a rare condition but these products work better than anything the vets prescribed and definitely much better in price

So far so good. Reasonably priced solution to the problems of the sensitive GI tract of an aging dog. It's efficacy in firming up my 14 year old bitch's stools has meant an end to disturbed nights for me with her anxiously whining at the door to be let out in the wee hours. I have noticed a significant reduction in noisome canine flatulence, too. This has meant my little girl (well, not so little) has become generally more relaxed and while she usually turns up her nose at any adulteration of her food with other supplements, it is not the case with this. One of the major benefits of this particular supplement is that it hasn't produced the opposite problem of constipation or stools that are over hard and difficult to pass. Her GI condition has become chronic and has cost me a fortune in veterinary bills but none of her treatments, which I paid so much for, has been this effective without producing an undesired effect. Getting medication or supplements from a vet is a bit like ordering a bottle of wine in a fancy restaurant. The mark up is unconscionable, so having paid for my vet's skiing, and West Indies holidays to ascertain that my girl is not suffering from parasitic infestation, intractable infection or other sinister condition (she has a sort of canine IBS) I have no qualms using Pro-Kolin powder bought here at a fraction of the cost of veterinarian prescribed nostrums which has cost me MY holidays.

Used alongside RC gastrointestinal for sudden loose stools in 8 month old kitten. Fixed the issue in 12 hours. Great to keep gor emergencies. Single sachets are great idea unlike paste that could go off or dry up. Very happy and greatful thank you.. he's better and back to himself

These are amazing! Myv11yr old dog has suffered with ear infections, and loose poop 💩 especially in hot weather. These powders he has 2 a day and have definitely helped his gut bacteria and ears

Pro kolin sachets bought for Yorkie with upset stomach who wouldn't take the pro kolin advance paste from the syringe the vet gave me.. Pack seems good value as you get 30 sachets in the box. Sadly even disguising these in my dogs food she wouldn't eat the food. I've now gone back to administering the paste on veterinary advice with the help of my daughter and daughter in law. Between them they can at least get some in the dog.

Recommend by our vets as a cheaper alternative to what you get at the vets pharmacy. This works brilliantly for poorly pets and helps easy tummy issues. We’ve bought this multiple times for both our dogs when they’ve had bad gut issues from changing foods, eating something they shouldn’t have and our frenchie who has allergies. This works very well and quickly. The vets recommended this as a better long term solution as well. This is very effective and I highly recommend, good to have some in the cupboard just in case as well.
