At least the Amplim company is located in USA. Works better, more consistently, than another generic type I bought. The readings mean something when there aren’t wide variations for no reason. I guess the under tongue thermometer is best though in this price range. I never doubted a standard thermometer, which also saves a lot of time and unnecessary dwelling, rechecking, is this right or wrong, and you still don’t know for sure. Standard thermometer is better, read it, done. Only you have to sterilize it.

Reading is somewhat higher compared to other thermometers!
I get 1 to 2 degrees higher in reading compared to other thermometers that I had. That means, it could be showing wrong/inaccurate readings. I used two thermometers for comparison, and this one still showed my child has a fever when he wasn't even warm anymore! Not reliable! Will return!

We had turn off sound , because daughter hates themometers of any kind and been work well and accurate after buying count less amounts of themometers and going thru hundred of review was told try this one by a friend and like I said worked very well for us we use constantly due to our daughter need temp to not get high due to medical issues but over all great
