Ninja Blender [BL480UK] Single Serve, Auto-iQ. 1000 W, Black and Silver

The NUTRI NINJA BLENDER BL 480 is a 'first class' powerful 1000 watt machine with suction pads which holds it firmly in position on the kitchen work surface. It is very well designed and does not take up much room and fits well on the smallest of work surfaces. It comes with two transparent cups made of strong plastic with lids which are used for blending. One cup being 500 mls ( approx. 18 fluid ozs / nearly a pint ) and the other cup being 650 mls ( approx. just over 23 fl ozs / nearly one and quarter pints ) Use either one to blend according to the amount of smoothie or juice you need for drinking. The cup lids can be placed on the cup and very handy for sealing and used on car journeys. The Nutri Ninja BL 480 does come with easy to follow instructions on how to use it correctly. A recipe book is also enclosed with it but has a limit of just 30 recipes for smoothies and drinks. In addition to me buying the Nutri Ninja BL 480 , I purchased an additional recipe book with 70 smoothie recipes which I found to be more useful than the recipe book which came with the Nutri Ninja Blender ppliance. The 70 recipe book gives detailed information on the nutrition of what each fruit and vegetable provides and is needed to maintain an all around healthy body which is very helpful when deciding the smoothie you choose to make. This book is simply titled " NUTRI NINJA Recipe book by LIANA GREEN and is packed with excellent information and guidance on a healthier living. I bought mine from AMAZON, priced at £6.99 and found it to be well worth the price. Since buying the NUTRI NINJA, I have used it to make at least one smoothie per day, all of which have been of different recipes containing fresh fruit and vegetables, which of course have no unwanted additives, such as salt , sugar or flavourings which are found in tinned foods. Buying a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables will last a long time. Simply take a small portion of either or both as sated in the recipe. The remainder can then be chopped and frozen for use in later smoothies you make. A smoothie can be quite filling and will provide you with the nutrition to keep you healthy....and in 'some cases' reduces the amount of a meal, such as dinner which you would normally want to eat throughout the day. I personally have done away with some items of daily medication, but best consult your GP first before doing so. I can honestly say that " Having a Nutri Ninja smoothie a day has kept my doctor away ". After the first few smithies, my batteries were recharged and I feel fitter and have more energy to see me through the day. It truly is an amazing machine, which for me produces the perfect tasty smoothie which are so cheap to make bearing in mind the small portions of fruit and vegetables needed ( the remainder can be frozen for later use). The downside of the NUTRI NINJA BL 480 is that whilst it is robust and powerful with a 1000 watt electric motor, it is somewhat noisy due to its power, but bearing in mind that smoothies are blended and made within as little as 30 seconds, and no more than 60 seconds when harder ingredients such as ice is placed within the cup for blending in with the smoothie fruit and veg'. In addition to the nutrition values you consume, a chilled smoothie with ice cubes blended in, makes a very refreshing cold drink. Simply browse through the instruction book before using. There are no complications on how to use the machine, just one or two simple instructions to follow, one of which refers to the amount of fresh fruit, vegetables, ice cubes and liquid - water, milk etcetera you place into the cup MUST NOT exceed the MAX LINE marked on the cups which are then placed with cutting blade lid on the machine. Select a button to press, and ' Hey Presto, in 30 to 60 seconds you have the perfect smoothie, though possibly a few traces of chopped seeds depending on what fruits are put into the cup , which are harmless to consume. If you are ADULT and fancy a smoothie in the evenings, then those who enjoy an alcoholic drink, such as spirits or a liquor, then a sensible measure placed in with the selected recipe ingredients makes the smoothie quite enjoyable with the flavour of the spirit coming through with the taste. A shot or two of MALIBU gives it a nice coconut and rum flavour. The best of two worlds - a nutritious smoothie and a social drink at the same time. If you enjoy a coconut flavoured drink without alcohol, then simply add coconut milk, or coconut water to the ingredients in the cup, and then blend. Following use of the machine, I found that the cups and lid with the blades are so easy to clean in warm water with a little washing up detergent and then wiped dry for its next use. To many, the NUTRI NINJA may seem a little too expensive for their pockets, but in my opinion it excels well above all other makes of blenders. It is powerful and robust in its materials, and should afford you many years of usage. I highly recommend investing in the NUTRI NINJA and will pay for itself in the long run. if you follow the simple instructions.

After deciding that I needed to get more fruit and vegetables into my diet I researched all the various blenders and juicers on the market, watched the videos and talked to friends who already had one or other of the different brands. I decided on the Nutri Ninja as it seemed the best and most powerful. I've only had it for a week but am thrilled with it. Making a smoothie packed with goodness for breakfast each day is so quick and easy and then you just wash the blade and goblet in warm soapy water and leave it to drain. Simple. I haven't yet made any dips or houmos but I expect that to be just as easy. The only slight negative comment is that when using carrots the resulting drink does gave a very slight chewiness but you could get over that by either pouring through a sieve or by using carrot juice in the mixture instead of whole carrots. It's not unpleasant though. After using an old fashioned juicer for years which was a nightmare to clean with all the leftover pulp this is a revelation. Although it's not the cheapest on the market Amazons price is pretty good. It arrived within a couple of days too. Highly recommended.

I had a good look around at premium blenders and it came down to this or the Nutribullet. Decided on this after seeing a number of comparison reviews on YouTube, while they're both very similar this manages to blend ice without any problems. As you'll see in the review video this is really easy to use, pop your ingredients in one of the provided containers, put the container on the base unit and then select either auto blend or auto blend ultra (for use with ice). You don't need to keep hold of the unit, it then runs a pulsing programme to get everything very well blended. There's a specific order to put your ingredients in, the included manual explains this really well. On the bottom are suction cups to keep it stable. Once done you can add a special top to the container and take that with you on your travels. The great thing about this is there is only the container, blades and top that need to be cleaned, the base unit stays clean. Is noisy when in operation, but this only lasts around a minute.

This is a great machine and the 1000w motor makes such a difference. Just don't expect small seeds such as strawberry and raspberry to be completely pulverised, but it does a great job on nuts and green leaves. Good starter recipe booklet with it too. I made the delicious houmous and tabbouleh dip from it really easily and quickly. I previously used a juicer, but it's great to know that with this there's no waste and you're consuming all the fibre too. It's also so much easier to clean, just give the cup and the blade a quick wash and that's it. I also have a 300w BlendActive but you have to hold the blend button down and it does an ok job with certain ingredients or for mixing protein shakes, but with this you chuck it all in, press the appropriate programme and leave it to it! Comes with 2 sizes of cups the larger of which is perfect for making plenty shake or dip to go round. Very pleased with it indeed.

This is a fantastic piece of kit. I usually use the automated "smart" blending. This is where it pulses and let's the contents settle then blends, let it settle, then blend....over the space of a minute. Results are pretty much spot on. So operation is simple.....its 4 buttons. The main unit is a weighty piece of kit which in addition to rubber feet also has suction cups on the bottom to stop it dancing around. It'll still move around as it's a powerful piece of kit. Comes with 2 cups the larger of which is a great size for loading and blending but the resulting smoothie will just fit into the smaller cup (which is a handy size). It also comes with 2 lids for the cups with a drinking spout. Rinse the cup and lids out as soon after use as possible. Since the threads to secure the lids are on the inside of the cup they can easily get welded together by the remains of a smoothie. In use this can be very loud, even more so if ice or frozen fruit are being blended. Cleaning is easy. A quick rinse under the hot tap and you're done. Another option is a squirt of washing up liquid some hot (not boiling) water and pulse the blender. Job done. Basically I've knocked a star off for the noise and cost. While it's not expensive it's also not a full on blender so it's expensive for what it is. All in all it's a good piece of kit that I'd recommend.

Really happy with this product. I had wanted the nutribullet as recommended by David Wolfe at a seminar I attended earlier this year, and so I have been waiting for the 900 to come out as it is specific to breaking down the cell wall to receive more nutritional benefit. This unit is less expensive by nearly £50, but I purchased this based on another review of the nutri ninja. Brill product! I read reviews where people were disappointed by the thickness of the green smoothies, but you have to keep in mind this is not a blender or a juicer. This product especially is designed so that you get both the fibre and the nutrient value of the veg or fruit. This is really important when you have a health issue. Juicing is one of the protocols I used when I reversed my Rheumatoid Arthritis now 14 years ago. The only problem I have is that I absolutely need the fibre, so juicing doesn't work for me. Love also how easy this unit is to clean compared to a juicer! WOW. The company offering this product is great to do business with. Any issues are quickly and efficiently handled, and I received this product well before stated delivery date.

Love, love, love this machine. Spent ages trying to decide on the 'perfect' blender for me, and read hundreds of reviews before I settled on this one. Was worried about the noise level but it's not nearly as bad as others have claimed. The auto IQ setting takes any guesswork out of blending, and as long as you load the cup as per the instructions it produces smooth, delicious results. Cleaning is a breeze - I just rinse the blades immediately in hot soapy water. If you add lots of frozen items and/or ice, you end up with a thick, consistency that resembles soft ice cream. I've only used it for 'healthy' smoothies so far, but come Christmas look forward to making some amazing frozen cocktails! The only thing that disappoints is the cup size. Whilst 650mls sounds a lot, and certainly makes a good sized drink, once a few chunks of fruit or vegetables have been added, the cup quickly fills and if you want to add ice (who wants to drink a warm green smoothie) it's easy to go over the fill line - not to be recommended! I was looking at buying the Berg machine, which has a 1000ml cup, and perhaps with this i could have fitted in more of the good stuff, but I'm happy with my neat little Ninja that sits unobtrusively on my counter top.

Update: After about 6 months, it started to leak. Meaning, when using the blender, some of the liquid leaks out and it is difficult to clean. I thought maybe this is because I did not close the lid properly but it keeps going this way and increase. Will contact the company now. Noise: It is incredibly noisy. You cannot possibly use it at night or in the early morning or late evening if you want to stay friends with your neighbours or those who live with you =) I am really in love with this blender. After reading that this blender makes a lot of noise, I was not sure but I have used it ever since I bought it probably now for 4 or 5 times with different things,....vegetables to make delicious cremes and smoothies. Can be also used for soups actually. Although I would only use cooled down ingredients after boiling plus it is not easy to get all of the solid texture out of the cup. The quality: I really cannot complain, easy to clean, looks neat, nice rubber on the bottom that holds the blender in place. Tried different functions and all I can say is that I am amazed at this automatic functionality :). No need to check anymore manually, you will get your smoothie very smooth. I have not tried it yet with frozen fruit. Blade: Like others... i did not cut myself yet but you will see a big warning paper sent with the blender telling you to be cautious! :) I am very happy with my purchase and so far can recommend it. And the noise..a motorcycle is louder than this but yes, maybe dont use a blender at 7am in the morning when others might sleep.
