will it work on a eos 1300 canon by malky

I can't promise it will , but I can't see why it won't , the EOS 1300 should be compatible with all EF lenses . Maybe see if you can rent it first , or take your camera to one of those traditional camera stores (some people might remember those) and give it a go if they'll let you. A couple of things to consider are - the weight of the camera and the weight of the lens will be very different, this lens is a beast, and will make your camera look the same as when someone puts a massive rear spoiler on a Ford Fiesta ! And you may find falling over becomes easier ! You also have to think about is that this lens is designed for a full frame, so when you put it on a crop sensor, you'll get more zoom for your money , but you might not get that crisp , clear image that a full frame would give you. In summary, try renting it first before shelling out this sort of cash

this is a heavy lens what tripod do i need

Any thing dependent on the weather, if it is windy something more robust, I have a lightweight one that works perfectly. You can attach the lens mount to the tripod for balance.

Is it compatible with the canon eos 1100 d ?

Canon 1100D has a Canon EF/EF-S lens mount and currently there are 333 native lenses available for this mount. Should be okay as the lens you are considering is EF.

How much does the actual lense weigh, is it more than the new 100-300 which I can just about cope with handheld. Can somebody use kitchen scales

Dear customer. The weight of that lense is 3.5lb
