The Wonder Woman: The Art and Making of the Film Book is a brilliant Book I'm really impressed

If you’ve seen the film, you might want to own this book. If you haven’t seen the film, this tells you a great deal – through pictures and words! – about the film without providing too many spoilers. Certainly, we could have done with more text (though what is there is enlightening), but it's clear that the writer and company have gone for the credo 'a picture is worth a thousand words' - and it works well enough. The layout is broken down into various parts: Themyscira features short chapters on the design of the island, the armoury, the characters, the weapons and the exciting beach battle – all enhanced with anecdotes from the production team and artwork and stills. The Journey is a brief account of Diana’s departure from the island and the construction of the boat – a vessel that never in fact touched water, thanks to CGI wizardry. The final part is Man’s World with chapters about London recreated in 1918, Etta Candy, Steve Trevor, the villains, and the trench warfare, again enhanced with illustrations and movie stills. Reading this book it’s obvious that Director Patty Jenkins found the film a labour of love, as did so many others involved. The palettes of colour were deliberately chosen – the bright shades for the Themyscira section, the sombre leached shades of Man’s World at war. Like the film itself, this book is an excellent homage to the icon created in 1941, Wonder Woman.

Great book. Nice large format. Excellent production stills, background images and concept art. Some truly great close ups of the costumes - handy for anyone wanting to do cosplay. A bargain at just over £20. One of the best Art Of books I have bought for a while. 5 Stars

One of the most entertaining films I have watched in a long time. A lot has been made of a female superhero lead and a woman director, but this is not a 'woman's film'. As a bloke, I enjoyed every minute. Unlike many of the DC extended universe films, it has humour and a coherent and engaging story. All the cast are good, but the whole thing is held together by a wonderful performance from Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. I prefer this to any of the Marvel offerings (which I like, in general) and I think it's the best superhero movie since the Dark Knight.

A wonderful companion piece to the movie that takes us behind the scenes to show us the sets, costumes, weapons, and other props, while explaining the logic and amount of detail that went into their design. For instance, I hadn't (consciously) noticed how Wonder Woman's costume is present throughout the designs of the Amazons' own armour, to the point it feels more of a natural variation rather than a sudden departure like the classic costume we see in the 2009 animated movie. I also hadn't realized the amount of practical effects and sets that went into making this movie and how they were, at times, combined with digital animation to achieve a result more faithful to the concept art. In some cases it was a bit over-the-top perhaps, as we see in the third act of the movie, but in others I have just realized I didn't even notice them at all! The book also features short descriptions for characters like Diana, Steve, Hippolyta and Antiope, among others, sometimes explaining what the creators were looking for in each and how and why actors like Gal Gadot and Chris Pine were such good fits for their characters. I can hardly disagree. While I had not expected something as long or intricate as Rinzler's The Making of Star Wars I have to admit it felt rather short for an "art" and "making of" book. I had been looking forward to reading more about what the actors or the director thought during the shooting of certain scenes, particularly the more emotional ones involving Diana and Steve, and understanding how those came to be. Unfortunately, the closest I got was a short description of the No Man's Land scene, although accompanied by gorgeous art work. Even then there's no reference as to how it was almost cut from the movie, something that would've made for a wonderful anecdote! I was pleasantly surprised by the little extra included at the end of the book in the form of a negative print of the photo Bruce returns to Diana, neatly tucked inside an envelope that reads, "Wayne Enterprises." It's not something one usually finds in art books and I appreciate that this one went the extra mile and wrapped things up with such a cool gift. Wonder Woman: The Art and Making of the Film is a great companion piece for people who enjoyed the movie and are eager to know more. It made me better appreciate the amount of effort that went into bringing the Amazon Princess' story to life and makes a compeling case for another, more thorough, viewing.

Ordered this yesterday and expected it to be here in 3/4 day. I had it on standard delivery and it came today. it's literally took less than 10 hours from ordering it to get it. well worth the money as well.

Having seen (and loved) the movie last week I was keen to get this book and it really is superb!! After a lovely foreword by Patty Jenkins the book is then split into sections just as the film is!! Not going to give too much away but it's so interesting to read about the making of the film, including the locations, special effects, costumes, props and the actors themselves!! It definitely makes you appreciate how much hard work goes into making a film when all we see is the end product. A definite MUST for all WW fans out there!!!!

If you're a Wonder Woman fan this is the book for you ! with all the facts behind the making of the film Themyscura, The costumes it really is Amazing and crammed with amazing photographs, i LOVE it !!!

Primero, el libro está en inglés, pero con un nivel básico y un poquito de ganas, está genial, si te gusta la película de Wonder Woman. El libro está repleto de fotografías, con gran calidad y este viene presentado con sobrecubierta y lomo redondeado (cosa que se agradece a la hora de abrirlo y demás). Sin duda, por unos 18€, que es por lo que lo pillé, es una gran compra.

I usually don’t review items. However this book is amazing for any wonder women lovers! It’s a great size such detail and with a lil surprise at the end. Ver well made and I’m just happy to have it and now it’s sitting in my shelf

The quality of the book is insane. It does not come in a slipbox, but overall, I like the feel of the book. The details of the content and the concept arts and photographs are very cool, and the negative film on the inner back cover was a wonderful surprise. One of the best DC cinematic universe art books.

Acima da expectativa. Excelente qualidade, com fotografias de muito bom gosto, fiéis ao filme (composição, enquadramento, cor, luz), inclusive dos bastidores. Gal Gadot, eterna Mulher Maravilha! O brinde do negativo do Bruce Wayne selou a Obra.

Reçu hier, le livre est assez imposant et la couverture est sublime. Même si il est écrit en anglais (souvent compréhensible), le livre est parfaitement illustré et le papier est de qualité. Il est conçu en différents chapitres qui reprennent bien les différents moments du film. Le livre met bien en avant le travail de conception qui a permis d'aboutir à une magnifique réalisation. Ce livre est un bijou pour qui s'intéresse à la phase de conception d'un film. Je le recommande pour la qualité des illustrations, pour la qualité de la mise en page et parce que ce film le mérite bien. Il faudrait juste penser un jour à en faire une version française. Ce livre le mérite et la communauté française aussi. Merci, en tout cas, aux éditions Titan Books!
