I’ve tried various methods for years to remove unwanted upper lip hair. Hair removal cream is rubbish and always leaves some hairs behind. Also irritating to skin. Waxing worked but the area is red for 24 hrs after, it hurts, leaves dry patches and forget it in summer or you’ll have a different coloured moustache zone. So for maybe 5 years I’ve just given up and half heartedly plucked a few at the corners of my mouth while crying silently. Because ouch. I dubiously bought this after reading the top few negative reviews and decided I’d return it if it was terrible, but I have avoided epilators forever since I bought a crappy leg epilator in 2007 and it hurt so much I threw it away, so expectations were very low. Well what can I say, this thing worked SO WELL! Firstly, yeah it hurts a bit. But if you’re a regular tweezer, it’s not half as bad as individually plucking! It plucks like 30 at once and the numbness sets in pretty quickly. I’d say if individual tweezing is an 8/10 on the pain barometer then this is more like a 5-6. Secondly, it not only got rid of the longer hairs but also removed those annoying tiny blond hairs too- completely smooth. Thirdly, my upper lid was red afterwards, but it disappeared after a few hours (helped with a cold flannel). I’m just really happy with the results. No more hours of painful tweezing for me, no sir. Give me a few minutes of less painful epilating with this tool and I am very, very happy. Highly recommended for fellow tweezer users who get depressed every time they have to get the tweezers out.

I am generally quite sceptical of grooming devices specifically for the face and have made do with a pair of tweezers for this sensitive area for most of my life, but I decided to buy this product due to it's claims of being speedy, and because I have owned a more conventional epilator by Braun before that has never let me down. So far, I've only used the device once or twice, and will leave another review in a couple of months to provide some more clarity. I am very happy with it at this early stage. I'm by no means unused to epilation on the skin so can't judge how painful it would feel to someone not used to the pulling sensations - only that the tiny epilator head feels gentle enough and is easy to manipulate around really tricky areas above and below the brow - an absolute win for me, as it takes ages to manually groom thick eyebrows with tweezers! It is indeed speedy and effective and I couldn't be more pleased. Though I bought this thing for the epilator alone really, I did try out the cleansing brush attachment and was shocked at how effective that was as well. I tend to wear foundations at least 5 days a week and need to be careful to keep the T-zone of my face clean as this is a problem area for spots and blocked pores. The brush worked beautifully at helping apply my current cleanser and though it sounds rather silly: my face felt really good after my cleansing routine was done, (glowing would be the word). I am seriously impressed here, this is finally a device with an attachment that I won't simply keep in my cupboard and completely forget about: both the epilator and the brush parts have proven to be quick and effective alternatives to manual tweezing, which is glacially slow, and using wash cloths to help with makeup removal, which pull the skin about too much and can actually cause fine lines. The attachments are easy to clean, but I have made a note to be mindful of keeping any moisture out of the main parts as certain reviews I have seen online suggest it isn't as waterproof as intended. Overall, I am hopeful that this device will continue to prove reliable in the coming months and continue to knock time off my cleansing/tweezing routines. If the good results remain (and my face continues to glow like it has been doing!), I'd wager it'll be hard going finding a better facial epilator on the market at this price range.

Just received this item. I really am pleased to see good quality batteries included, even though this brand is cheaper than some of the others. There is a small brush which has dual purpose, both to clean out any bits and the bottom to open up the epilator, which is easy to do and opens immediately where a further battery is kept. I thought I would remove the fine hairs on my upper lip and until I stretched my skin, it was fairly painful. However, having used epilators on my legs for years, it does get easier and less painful as the hairs re grow. Shaving makes hairs stronger. Epilators make hair grow finer. I also did my eye brows which was not painful at all. So I suppose it hurts in places not done before. This product also has a brush that can be used to remove make up and is supposed to be more effective than normal removal. Purports to remove impurities that are pore deep? Anyway…. I have to warn that when you put the cap on and then take it off again the epilator stays in the cap and is quite difficult to remove. I have removed one star for that. The only solution I can find is not to push the cap on too tight. Despite all of that, I am going to say that I am very impressed with this. So many other products that are cheaper say they are epilators but are really shavers. This is a proper epilator. Update…. I had not tried the brush…. But I have now. I used my usual product to cleanse on this brush and turned it on…. I don’t like to admit I was wrong, but I must this time. The brush made my skin slightly pinkish as I was using it and I wasn’t pressing hard enough to do that. I was quite surprised at that. When I removed the brush for cleaning, it was slightly dirty, but a few minutes after, I could feel my skin tightening. Tightening that only expensive creams do. My skin feels really clean as well. I wasn’t expecting this. So overall a really good product that I will probably use every day.

This Braun face spa is dual function, it comes with a brush head for exfoliation and the tweezer head which is designed for removing pesky facial hair. It also has a small cleaning brush tool and a lid to put on top of the tweezer head. Not so good things first - 1) Tweezing ability - Given that I bought it for this purpose I have been somewhat disappointed that it does not get all the hairs that I thought it would. It is necessary to experiment with the wand and the direction the tweezers are rotating in order to get the best chance of getting the hairs ( I have also experimented with making my skin more taut to try and improve the tweezing) . I still find some thicker hair and the shorter hairs are not always pulled out. I still do get the hand held tweezers out and pluck out the remaining hairs. There is no way I could wait 4 weeks until doing it again, more like 1-2 times a week and there are a couple of days when I have to tolerate that 'stubbly' feeling where the hair has started to grow. Having said that my chin is definitely smoother feeling after using it and this has to be because of the Braun tweezers. 2) Battery power - It is battery operated and takes only 1 battery. As other reviewers have noted the battery power does seem to go down very quickly, literally you can hear it slow down after very little use e.g. 5 minutes or less. It will take re-chargable batteries which is good. Replacing the battery is very easy the little cleaning brush tool doubles as the key to open the battery compartment. Good things 1) Exfoliation - the rotating brush head is perfect for putting a liittle facial cleansing soap on and then using on the face and neck. My skin felt really well exfoliated and smoother after using it. So I recommend this definitely. My overall star rating of 3 reflects that whilst using the face spa is better than using the manual tweezers only, the hair removal is not as good as I'd hoped and the battery does not last as long as you might expect.

I''ve purchased various types of this item before but this one is by far the best . It's reliable and easy to use ( other ones have been temperamental and annoying .) It does what it supposed to do to a high standard and feels nice on my skin. Price is very reasonable for such a professional result .

I got this to replace an emjoi one that I saw on qvc; I'd used it a lot and was going to replace it with the same one when it seemed to be wearing out a bit, but I saw this Braun one on sale so I thought I'd give it a try. The Braun epilator is a good shape to do upper lip, but my goodness does it hurt! I don't recall the emjoi hurting as much as this, but I don't think it was catching as many hairs at once, so that may be the reason why the Braun one is more painful. It is much less painful along the jawline though, but I suppose if it hurts you know it's getting the hairs, and when it stops hurting you know you've got them all! I thought at first the switch was slow and fast speed but it's actually to make the head rotate either clockwise or anticlockwise depending I suppose on your handedness, or the direction your hair is lying (maybe a bit of bit both). I mean, I would recommend it as it obviously is doing the job and the head it the right size for upper lip, but you have to be prepared for pain. I have not used the brush part yet, I'll get back to you on that. UPDATE: It wasn't working too well so I just changed the batteries and it still is stopping and starting with very slow rotation. I have to bang on the bottom of it to get it to go at all! This is just so bad!! A brand name and it won't work properly now, it's obviously something to do with the battery connection; they have made it as cheaply as it's possible to get away with. I'm reducing my star rating because of this. Don't buy it, just don't.

I bought to as a solution for removing top lip hair. I tried home waxing but it often missed the smaller hairs. This device gets even the tiniest hairs and you can used it as often as you like which is helpful as top lip hair tends to sprout up unevenly! I was concerned at first about whether it would be painful as I am sensitive to even the slightest discomfort. However, it’s remarkably comfortable to use. You do feel a slight nip as the hair is extracted especially in the middle part of your lip which is extra sensitive. I find that if you use the device every few days for about 90 seconds then you pick up all the finer hairs so there is no in between growth. I also use this to tackle a few rogue chin hairs and it stops regrowth for ages. So much easier that fiddling about with tweezers. I think this device also comes with some kind of face wash attachment, I’ve not used it so no comment on that. As a hair removal device this gets my 5 star rating. Convenient and easy to use. Small enough to take on holiday if you need to

Excellent quality, really sturdy and well made. I'm a bloke and bought this to help remove the hairs from my neck which electric and wet shaving leave behind, no matter how much I try. It WORKS! It's pain-free, you can actually feel each hair being ripped out by the root and the smoothness it leaves behind is brilliant. I also used it under my nose, at the side of, and in the middle area of my eyebrows, around the ears, around the sideboards area and even to remove the hairs on my fingers. On the neck area there's a bt of reddening and slight swelling of the skin for a few hours, but overnight it disappears and the next morning I'm smooth and ready for work, with no annoying neck stubble. Beards and facial hair might be the latest lazy fashion for men, but they are known as a breeding ground for bacteria and can become smelly and greasy too which is gross, unhygienic and just dirty when you think of it. I prefer the smooth look and feel and this device helps me to achieve this goal. I wouldn't recommend using this device around the nether regions as the pulling sensation might be distracting, although possibly pleasant.

Terrible for chin hair removal doesn’t catch hairs at all

L'appreil a été reçu dans les délais (prime) et en bon état. Utilisé le jour même, menton et lèvre supérieure, il épile très bien. Certes ce n'est pas très agréable mais tout à fait supportable. Il laisse la peau douce. Après l'épilation, une rougeur est apparue. J'ai passé un glaçon quelques minutes et en moins d'une heure, il n'y avait plus rien. Mieux vaut le faire le soir. Je n'ai pas eu de petits boutons comme le soulignent certains commentaires. De même je ne peux préjuger de la durée de vide la pile. Ol y en a une en plus dans le paquet (d'une bonne marque). J'ai aussi testé la brosse démaquillante. Elle frotte un peu trop à mon goût mais est efficace. Je suis très satisfaite et regrette de ne pas avoir sauté le.pas plus tôt. Si mon avis change, je ferai une correction de cet écrit.

It works, but the motor feels quite weak. It slows down significantly on contact with the skin, so I have to go over the same area multiple times to remove hair, which ends up causing redness and discomfort on the face.

This is the ultimate in epilators available in the Indian market. My search for a facial epilator has finally culminated. I have been using Braun Silk epil epilator for body for the past 3 decades and till date never a problem. Touch wood. This facial epilator is handy, pulls out hair from the roots from upper lip, chin etc. Not painful at all. Only wish it had a cord. The cell discharges with just 1- 2 times use. An extra cell has been provided. It is better to remove cell when not in use. I am happy with the gadget and hope it lives up to the reputation of the German global giant Braun, because it's now made in China!
