Question 1

hi, what size gas cannister do you need for this. what is the smallest size that can be used with it? thanks

Accepted Answer

You can use either the CV300 (Which is the smallest canister) or the larger CV 470. We bought our Daughter one of these stoves for her Duke of Edinburgh Award Silver qualifying expedition, she got on fine with it, and she has since used it on her Gold practice exped; both with a CV 470 canister which is not empty yet. We have got her a CV 300 to take on her Gold qualifier as well, just in case the 470 runs out. *Campingaz USED to do a smaller CV270 canister: but really the difference between that and the 300 was so small, they discontinued it. No doubt there are some still dotted around, but I haven't seen any. The CV470 has done for 7 days' and 5 nights' cooking so far! Geoff

Question 2

Can you take the burner off the canister after each use?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can without fear of leaks, etc, It also makes for easier carriage as the burner head folds flat and can be packed with something else (When cold, of course!) and then clip the top on to the canister to keep dirt, etc, out of the connection.
