Flightpath is the definitive course for pilots and Air Traffic Controllers who need an ICAO4 level of English to work in the industry. Flightpath is the only Aviation English course to offer a thorough grounding in the full range of communication skills needed by aviation professionals to communicate in non-routine situations. With regular focus on ICAO criteria, learners are given full support in reaching industry standards, including case studies, analysis of their own communication skills, exposure to authentic in-flight communication, and communicative tasks. Flightpath is the most accurate preparation course available for any ICAO4 language test, and includes authentic industry training video. Flightpath has been reviewed and endorsed by a panel of leading aviation communication and safety professionals. Review: Perhaps the best on the market - My favourite book for preparing pilots for ICAO is Check your Aviation English. It's tailored precisely to passing the test, and includes plenty of Indian/African accents which, if not practised, could scupper the chances of a pilot whose English is otherwise very good. English for Aviation, while a fine book, concentrates on UK, US, Australian and South-East Asian accents. Flightpath is the better textbook, however. It practises the vocabulary and situations of aviation in greater depth than Aviation English or English for Aviation, and - this is the best feature in my view - constantly puts the student in the situation of responding verbally to cues. In Check Your Aviation English, each unit takes about one hour. Ideal for one-to-one with a pilot who has just realised that he/she has three weeks to prepare for the ICAO! Flightpath, on the other hand, is a long-term proposition. You can easily spend one hour on some of the pages, and there are a lot of pages. So: if the student is regular and intends to improve his/her Aviation English generally, this is the best book on the market. If he/she's in a hurry, I suggest going for Check Your Aviation English. Oh, and Flightpath includes DVDs which are very well done indeed. Review: Five Stars - CDs enclosed with great situation exercises and accents on that.

Best Book for Aviation English
Don't waste your time with "English for Aviation" - Flightpath is 100% more comprehensive and focuses on improving the communication skills of pilots currently in the industry. It's probably the best out there. The listening samples and DVDs provide a nice range of accents and are well-laid out for listening activities. In addition to listening, the book provides opportunity to improve pronunciation. There's plenty of authentic role-play scenarios involved for learners to put into practice what they've just been taught. There's a lot of useful materials here - you could spend days on just one unit! I really can't say enough good things about the book! From the learner's perspective, they really enjoy it....from an instructor's perspective I approve of how they present and build on key language.

Perfect tool for ICAO proficiency english test
I received this book in March but until now give my opinion because First I wanted to know if it was a great help, and yes, after read, listen, practice etc, I realized that my aeronautical English is better I didn't expect it would have a great book to improve my Aeronautical English. I listen to its CDs and DVD video and my pronunciation has already improved. The book is complemented by the audio CDs and DVD which I could listen to while driving. Easy to read and simple to use, the audio is great and the pronunciation is very clear. I recommend it to pilots learning Aeronautical English and need to take English ICAO Exam. I'm very glad
