These are tasty and easy to cook with. I recommend mixing the soup and water portion first to blend it really well and then add in the rice cakes and stir well to coat. I find that they taste better that way.

This product is extremely a poor example of Rose Tteokbokki. Instructions state microwave for 2 minutes but that time was not long enough to soften the rice cakes to the same texture as normal tteokbokki. Other than being a little spicy the flavor as well as the smell had no resemblance to normal rose tteokbokki.

definitely my new go to instant rice cakes! it’s not too spicy and the rose flavor is so good.

Soup broth tastes is good and overall flavor is fine. I do not like the texture of the rice cakes as they seem do not get chewy. There may be one or two that does, but the rest... it's almost like it's stale or old. I've had prepacked tteokbokki before, and the rice cakes were nothing like this in quality. I've had two containers of this brand, and I am not sure I want the rest.

I purchased the rose topokki flavor and it is delicious. It's creamy, sweet, and spicy. If you have no spice tolerance at all, they will be very spicy to you. I have a medium spice tolerance and they were the perfect amount of spicy. I kept an ice water next to me and would take a few sips when I needed to cool my mouth down. My husband found it was too sweet. I will also say it's a good value because it's filling. When I add ramen noodles to eat with it, it's at least 2 portions and keeps me full for a long time. My favorite thing to do is mix some spicy ramen (like buldak carbonaro or shin black) into the rose topokki, add some cheese and stir it together once the cheese melts. It's so delicious.

I may have cooked it wrong the first time, so bear that in mind. The reviews said that this had a mild amount of heat. I very nearly couldn’t finish the first bowl because it was numbing my tongue! I’m not a newcomer to spicy foods, but if this is mild, whoa! Also, I never got to the creamy bit. Like I said, maybe I didn’t prepare it right, but it really tasted great till my taste buds gave out. Will try again!
